I felt cheated. They should stop teasing people by writing that they offer, at a cost of €130 (so not cheap), an experience immersed in the “incredible forest of Lapland” where they can meet “the fantastic reindeer” and enjoy “a typical lunch in a traditional kota”. The reality is quite different: there is nothing authentic or traditional. It’s a luxury hotel that exploits Lapland’s image to draw money from tourists, with a small fence housing two reindeer — certainly adorable, but far from what is described. The “typical Lapland lunch” was reduced to a single slice of smoked salmon, without even a dessert, cheese or something that could recall the local cuisine. Much better to spend €19 and go to the real reindeer village: there you have an authentic experience. An expensive and disappointing joke. The only positive note: Lisa, the guide, who tried kindly to make the day as pleasant as possible, even though she could not change the substance of the experience.
