Arch of Hadrian

The Arch of Hadrian, most commonly known in Greek as Hadrian's Gate, is a monumental gateway resembling – in some respects – a Roman triumphal arch. It spanned an ancient road from the center of Athens, Greece, to the complex of structures on the eastern side of the city that included the Temple of Olympian Zeus.

Lively Monastiraki is known for iconic landmarks including the ruins of Hadrian’s Library, the Ancient Agora and the rebuilt Stoa of Attalos, with a museum exhibiting Athenian artifacts. Monastiraki Flea Market is a jumble of shops selling artisanal soaps, handmade sandals and souvenir T-shirts. The surrounding streets are crammed with traditional tavernas and restaurants, many with Acropolis views. Include 15 minutes stop and tasting a greek Souvlaki

Our tour guide was excellent — very knowledgeable about the area and took us to many interesting places. However, the bikes left a lot to be desired. They were quite old, and the external batteries were mounted rather sloppily, constantly draining and disconnecting, which meant they had to be swapped out several times. The biggest issue came when a tire blew out, forcing us to stop at the center and wait while the guide returned to the shop for a replacement bike. Unfortunately, the tour time wasn’t extended to make up for the delay, which was disappointing.

First want to say that our guy Constantinos was excellent! So informative, fun and really in tune with the needs of our small private group. we saw some awesome sites and bike tours are always a great way to see a city!! That being said, the only reason I gave it 3 stars is because it was a night bike tour and our bikes had no lights on them. We’ve done night bike tours before and I know what a difference it makes… There were some areas that were so dark. It was downright dangerous to drive without lights. Hoping the owner of the tour reads this and makes changes…I’d be happy to change my review because everything else was great.

We were so happy that we did this tour. While not accessing or walking around the acropolis, we had many different photo stops and the other sites we saw made this an amazing tour, we no the observatories, main gate Zeus temple, royal gardens, Olympic stadium, Olympic village, many churches, the library. There is no way we would see these in a bus or walking. The e-bike was the way to go. Ladris was a wealth of knowledge and history. He answered questions about history, but also about modern day free. Amazing tour and so so happy we did it.

My husband and I and two friends, signed up for this bike tour. Our guide, Lambros, was wonderful. He customized our tour for us. If you haven’t biked when visiting a city, you are missing out. You see so much more than walking out riding around in a bus. Our guide was knowledgeable and gave us so much insight into Athens and its history. We rode around on e-bikes. You don’t have to use the extra power but it’s nice to know it’s available. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR!!
