Awesome adventure being in a submarine for the first time and seeing nature up close. Take you down over a hundred feet. You can see old shipwrecks on the bottom of the ocean that build coral which attracts fish.

IT WAS FUN! The submarine was comfortably large, much like being in a small airplane, so no issues with possible claustrophobia. And the viewing windows are large so that adds to the comfort. We didn’t see anything extraordinary but it was fun to see the bottom of the ocean. I don’t play in the ocean so this activity gave me the rare opportunity to be in the ocean and still feel safe. We saw a few objects - part of a plane, s sunken ship, and some other things the company had placed in the water long ago to attract fish. And it worked, there were lots of beautiful fish and a couple of small sharks all living life in their natural habitat. The crew was great, funny and engaging. Appreciated that they were up front about have placed the items in the ocean for our viewing pleasure. We were 4 adults and all really had fun on the trip. I was the only one that doesn’t swim, snorkel, and dive (ruined by Jaws 1, 2, and 3, The Meg, and numerous other movies - so sad for me) but we all enjoyed this adventure. It would be great fun for a family with children if the children are well behaved in public as it’s a shared space with no where to go so an upset child would ruin it for everyone else on board.

The blog Travel Without Scales was in Oahu, Hawaii, and we had the opportunity to live one of the most amazing experiences on the island: the tour with the Atlantis Submarines Waikiki. From the Hilton Hawaiian Village, the meeting point is super organized and practical, and the boat crossing to the submarine already begins to create that sense of adventure. The submarine is modern, quiet and fully air-conditioned, in addition to eco-friendly, battery-powered. As soon as we descend, the immersion is breathtaking: the bottom of the sea reveals sunken warplanes, sunken ships, artificial reefs and a myriad of colorful fish. It’s an experience that blends emotion, learning and contemplation — something that’s really not in any tour. During about 45 minutes of immersion, we explored vibrant coral reefs and found rare marine species. The feeling of being in another world, more than 30 meters below the surface, is indescribable. The rise to the surface is also special: a mix of admiration and respect for the strength of the ocean. The tour lasts approximately 1h45 in total and is perfect for families, couples or any Cover who want to live something different in Oahu. Safety and quality are guaranteed by Atlantis Adventures, a world reference in underwater tourism since 1988, and there are still narratives in several languages. More than a walk, it’s a true journey through the secrets of the Pacific. We left enchanted and with memories that will last forever.

We saw fish closeup, without getting wet, on a submarine ride in Honolulu harbor with Atlantis Adventures. We even saw a shark! Lots of fish were hanging out at a couple of old ships which were sunk on purpose to create artificial reefs. Boarding the sub is similar to boarding a commuter liner, one of those airliners that's too small for a jetway. However, boarding the sub is much less irritating. We rode a boat from Waikiki out to the sub. Once at the sub, we climbed down the stairway (almost a ladder) into the passenger compartment. When you reach the commuter liner, you climb up the boarding stairs. When you get to the sub, you climb down the stairs (which are almost ladders.) Unlike when boarding an airplane, you don't have to wait while other passengers try to stuff their oversized luggage into tiny overhead bins. You just walk to the next open spot on the bench that runs the length of the cabin. You have about as much room, side to side, as on an airplane, but you have more leg room. Also, every seat is a window seat! If you have mobility issues regarding ladders or steep stairways, this might not be the best cruise for you. There were some small children (practically babes in arms) who fussed and complained for part of the trip, though the scenery was interesting enough that they didn't really distract from the experience. I think that I would have enjoyed the trip if I had been at least 5 years old.

Unique. Chance to go in a submarine might not happen again. Tour guide was fun and jokes were cheesy. Would recommend for all ages as long as you can climb a ladder.
