This experience was the highlight of our visit to Bali. We, indeed, went into an actual Balinese home where they were holding a ceremony that day for Gusti’s baby’s one month birthday (according to the Balinese calendar). Our driver (Gusti Alit) picked us up at the villa and there we met Beego, the chef. They took us around the open market to show us the different fruits and ingredients we’d be using later on. Then we went and started cooking. The process was very involved but with the help of Beego, we were able to pull through with no problems. We prepared 7 dishes and they were all amazing! We highly recommend this as a part of everyone’s visit to Bali. Not only for learning to cook and tasting their food, but also for the cultural insights and a peek into their everyday life.
