  • Don’t book! Scammers.

Expect to pay 500 BHT more per person in cash to the guide Raj and driver Ake for this trip. These two are scammers who will tell you that you need to pay more for upper class seats on the view side of the train. Raj will show you nice upholstered seats when the train cars all come weigh the very basic hard seats. The view is the same from either side. They will change the pick up and call you that they can pick up for a hefty fee at your hotel. The museum is a VERY TIRED museum. The boat ride was also 200 BHT extra person. It was nice to see the bridge, but the tour is a scam. Do not recommend. Look for another tour operator.

It was interesting to learn more about what happened in this aerea under the second world war. And to see the bridge and the river. The guide had a good clar voice. But it was a little the difficult to hear and understand him in the back of the car.

Overall, it was a great experience. We first visited the cemetery and a simple museum. Then all members of the group opted for the optional boat trip up the river to the train station. I especially enjoyed the train ride and the included buffet lunch. The drive back to Bangkok was extra long because of traffic but our guide (Rach) and driver tried to drop us close to our next destination.

We enjoyed all aspects of this tour. Walking on the bridge while hearing the history from our tour guide, Rach, was fascinating. Traveling on the train was my favorite, the scenery is beautiful. The buffet lunch was good, the view from the restaurant was spectacular! We watched the movie "Bridge on the River Kwai" on the the flight to Bangkok, that really helped us appreciate the history. We highly recommend this tour!

Dear TripAdvisor Customer Service, I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a trip we booked through TripAdvisor on 21st June in Thailand. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what we expected due to several significant issues. First, the mini bus provided for the trip was extremely uncomfortable, which made the journey unpleasant. To make matters worse, the bus broke down, leaving us stranded at a garage for almost two hours in extremely hot conditions. While the tour operator was apologetic, this delay severely impacted our schedule. Our itinerary included a visit to the War Museum, followed by a boat ride to the bridge over the River Kwai, and a train ride with lunch. However, due to the breakdown, we were unable to see the entire War Museum. After reaching our destination, we were supposed to return to the museum, but instead, we had only a quick walk on the bridge and a brief 10-minute visit to the cemetery. We were only a short distance from our next destination when the breakdown occurred, but it took considerable time for another bus to be ordered and arrive to pick us up. This delay caused us to miss out on valuable time at our planned destinations and resulted in us being two hours late returning to our hotel. We were supposed to be back between 5:30 to 6:30 PM, but we didn’t return until 8:30 PM. I understand that mechanical issues can occur, but the lack of a comfortable vehicle and the significant delay were unacceptable. We were looking forward to a smooth and enjoyable experience, but these issues severely affected our trip. I hope that TripAdvisor will take this feedback seriously and address these concerns to ensure future trips are more reliable and comfortable for other customers. Additionally, I would appreciate information on any compensation or reimbursement for the inconvenience we experienced. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response. Sincerely, Steve Jones
