• Scam operator took booking and never showed up

  I tried emailing operator twice -- NO RESPONSE. I tried texting operator night before experience to confirm and coordinate pick up time -- NO RESPONSE. I tried calling operator the morning of our arrival via cruise ship -- CALLS WENT STRAIGHT TO VOICEMAIL WITH NO RESPONSE. Got off ship, and no surprise, operator was nowhere to be found. Wound up booking a completely different driver and will be disputing the credit card charge if Viator doesn't refund me for the whole thing! Total scam!

  We had to meet the driver outside of the port gates. There was no sign, no refreshments or snacks as promised. His car was small for two adults and two boys. Then, his air conditioning did not work. Also there was no tour of the island just us asking questions. We gave him the three things that we wanted to do and had no plan for timing with afternoon traffic and making the time to get back to the ship. We had one Cave tour and lunch and spent the rest of the day in the car. The driver was nice enough, but was not properly trained on how to execute a tour of Barbados and making us feel like we were getting the best service. We paid over $500 for less than five hours of being together. Stay away

  We had a nice day with Sylvain. He was a great driver and took good care of us along the day. We did go to Harrison's Cave and St. Nicholas Abbey. On the way, he showed us Rihanna's childhood home. Even if it is a completely customised tour with absolutely no inclusion (no admission fee), I believe this tour should be cheaper. Although the tour mentionned inclusions such as snacks, bottled water, soda/pop and alcoholic beverages, there was none. Communication before tour was poor. No answer to my first message. Then the day before I got 30 minutes Internet, and I was lucky because I got answers at this moment from the operator. I had read the other reviews before, so I did not expect much, but after all, we had a good day.

  The cost was 70% more than the actual cost on ground. The car was old. The driver was good and friendly though but its was a total rip off. I will never recommend for anyone. You get cheaper and better option when you get to Barbados.

  Poorly organized, the oldest taxi on the island was used (with over 400,000 km and the check engine light on), and the list of proposed activities was unclear. It would be better to focus on just two activities (a tourist site and a beautiful beach with a quality restaurant) and arrange an agreement with a local taxi service to ensure a better experience. Car travel is slow, and the island is too large to wander aimlessly from one end to the other.

  This tour was a premeditated attack on a solo woman traveller. I was abused by Julian, yelled at and abandoned far from my accomodation. I have footage of him losing his temper over nothing, I was so shocked he deemed it acceptable to speak in those manner to a paying tourist of 265 dollars. This was an unplanned and unthought about tour. He gave no time indicators at the beginning of the tour and I did not feel safe with him. His car had a pile of sunnis in the front dash and it was messy. His petrol tank was on empty and his car was definitely not road worthy. The axel or suspension was very broken and it felt as if the car needed major repair work or there could be an accident. He took me to Welchman’s gully and there was a girl selling tickets. He straight away was quite close with her and started buying himself food and talking to her. When I asked how much time i could spend at the garden he flipped out telling me I was rude and disrespectful. I really honestly did not understand what had happened. Then he said ‘this tour is cancelled, you can get your money back.’ I said call your boss so we can work out what to do. He refused to give me her number . I went back to the car to get my things and requested he drop me back to starting point. He yelled at me ‘get the f*** out of my car…. You’re lucky I don’t……’ I felt threatened and intimidated by his behaviour. Im a teacher and i’ve taught juvenile prisoners and at very rough schools so I know how to keep my cool. I filmed his interaction and I’m taking it to the police . Kathy was nowhere to be found when I contacted the company. Viator whom I’ve been using for two decades of serious travel wouldn’t help. That really saddened me because I know their company will have gang troubles because of it. I felt Julian may be a criminal because he had no issues with abusing a client and his boss never spoke to me directly. In my experience This company ‘Kathys tours and taxis’ are scammers. They target various individuals and literally daylight rob them. Julian presented well but lets his country down with his poor communication, poor impulsive control and lack of accountability which lets Kathys company down. In my 150 countries ive been to with tours through viator in every country ? Barbados show cases the worst tours through this company. Please protect yourselves against abusive tourguides and criminal tour company’s such as I found Kathys to be. (Lastly when writing honestly what Julian said to me , trip advisors filters wouldn’t let me post the review… so how can he swear at a tourist and still be employed.’ Needless to say im taking this to the police.

  Julian was awesome. Knowledgeable funny and a great driver. The only feedback I have would be to maybe. Communicate with the guest a day prior to ensure the location of pickup is easy and maybe provide water/snacks. The tour was a bit pricey to not have those few items. Otherwise the experience was nice! Julian is good tour guide!

  The car was in a bad shape. Three of us sitting at back seat un comfortable. It wasn't as expected. Although we were insured it will be nice car.

  Julian was an amazing tour guide. He's very knowledgable about the island and provided great commentary with all the different places we went. Along with that, Julian was very friendly and chill. An hour into the tour I felt as if i'm with a friend. If your in Barbadoes or planning to come, Julian is the man to show you around.
