The impressive mountain scenery and the beautiful landscape of the Berchtesgadener Land will definitely fascinate you. A special bus and lift take you up to the Eagle's Nest at an altitude of 1,834m where you will be rewarded with spectacular views.

Our guide will give a comprehensive summary of the historical events and answer any questions. Afterwards, we will have a short stop in the town of Berchtesgaden.

The return journey via the German alpine road shows you the impressive valleys of Bavaria.

In the event of bad weather conditions (fog, ice, snow) which make a trip up to the Eagle's Nest impossible, we offer a longer visit in the documentation center and the town of Berchtesgaden.

Franziska is wonderful she is so kind and warm, but more than that she really knows her stuff. Across the entirety of our tour no one could throw a question at her she didn't know. Her passion for the subject is really clear to see and makes it come alive, that is needed as some of the sites you'll be hearing about are no longer there. As for the activities themselves the town you go to at the end of the tour is delightful and has lots to do, from churches to stop wherein you can buy little wooden figurines. Do stick with Franziska as she does her tour of the place as you really do learn a lot and she shows you all of the places you might want to go anyway. The Documentation Centre is fascinating and really informative and with the complimentary audio guide you don't have to spend a long time waiting to read a small bit of text. The documentation centre comes as part of the ticket price, the add on ticket price that is. Herein is why I gave the tour 4 and not 5, so as you will see on the listing as well as what you pay you can pay an extra fee to go up to the Eagles Nest this is about 30+ euros. As part of that you get bus fare up to the top, admission into it and your tickets for the documentation centre. Though I must say to get the most for your money you shouldn't pay for this and should just buy tickets at the documentation centre and take a long lunch, this will only set you back about 5 euros each, lunch not included. The issues with the Eagles Nest are as follows I'll do it in chronical order from how you experience it. 1. You are guided onto a bus which may be overly full. 2. If the weather is not clear you will not have a good view going up there or whilst you are up there, if that's what your going for then you'll be disappointed. 3. Once at the top you'll go through a tunnel and go into a golden elevator, whilst the elevator looks cool you'll once again be crammed up against people. 4. Once you get to the top you realise the issue there isn't much to do up there. - There is a restaurant and a place to get warm drinks there is is also a place to buy souvenirs. Little to do with the thing you're there for. - They have a small exhibition about the purpose and nazi use of the facility, but again this is less information and more crowded than the documentation centre. -They also have a small summit you can hike up to about 5-10 minutes there isn't much up there bar a cross and the start of a national park trail. I think you can see the issue, the 30+ euros to actually go up to Eagles nest is not worth it. It is a tourist trap. However if you take a long lunch, enjoy the documentation centre and have a lovely time in the town at the end then you'll be more than happy to pay the initial activity price. In my opinion the only reason to go up to the Eagles Nest is for the view as there isn't much to do there so if it's a grey day don't pay the extra you'll regret it. Franziska is excellent just want to reiterate that.

Do not go to Eagle's Nest if cloudy. Waste of time. Go to the Documentation Center. Very informative. Berchtesgaden is lovely.

It is not a good trip. The Eagles Nest is over rated, even with the view. There is only one room that was where Hitler met with people and a display. The rest was a restaurant. The documentation center is fine. This tour does not include the cost to go to the Eagles Nest or Documentation center. It is 32 euros per person additionally to the cost of the tour. The town of Berchesgaden is quaint. It is a long drive to get to the locations and even though the town is quaint, it is not a good value for the time commitment. If the time was divided better by the tour company it might be better. There is over an hour at the Eagles Nest. You don't need that much time there. More time in the town would have made the trip better or at the documentation center.
