The first stop will be the concentration camp. During the visit, we will learn about the prisoners' daily work and how everyday life unfolded in the camp, through the buildings that have survived to this day. We will gain an understanding of the site's complex history through the various monuments that have been placed at the memorial over time, shaped by different ideologies and historical periods. We will visit places such as: - "Death Marches" Exhibition - Tower A: Security measures and punishments - Small Camp: Barracks 38 and 39 - Camp prison - Kitchen and laundry facilities - Soviet Monument from 1961 - Station Z - Infirmary and morgue

Nothing you read in books really sinks in until you visit the places where the atrocities took place. The information is quite a lot to take in, which is why the afternoon trip to Potsdam was needed.

You get a superficial view of Sachsenhausen. If you want to spend meaningful time, choose a different tour. Same with Potsdam. You get a nice tour of the Sansouci grounds but nothing else. I thought I'd see more of Potsdam and have a 40min lunch. but lunch was 25minutes maximum. Everything felt rushed. An hour longer tour would have made a big difference.

I have a really good experience with this tour. Mateo skillfully narrated the event that took place at S. C. Camp with respect while being informative. The trip to the to the castle was also informative and beautiful.

The positive: Peter is knowledgeable and clearly loves giving tours and has a deep understanding of history. Some of the reasons for the poor rating and caution to others taking this trip. One, your English speaking tour is paired with a Spanish speaking tour on the bus. Aa a result the other guide takes most of the time on the microphone and you miss out on so much. It was extremely frustrating. Peter is knowledgeable but long on storytelling, results in less time to take in the places on the tour. You end up rushed. Again, extremely frustrating. I can’t remember a time I didn’t tip a tour guide but this is one time I didn’t. Advice to tour company: charge more, get smaller buses and divide up groups even for traveling. Also, the bus driver was rude. After our guide said we could pick up coffee or a drink before leaving for the next stop, the driver would not allow us on the bus with our drinks. We are not children and we paid for the tour.

Very moving visit to Sachsenhausen. Amazing to stand where such things happened. Potsdam lifted the spirits- such beautiful buildings. Would like to have seen more but time didn’t permit it. Lovely walk down to Potsdam town and along the Main Street. Our guide Peter was very knowledgeable and personable. Great tour.

Would be good to know that opportunity for lunch would be almost at the end of the tour (apart from bus return trip). We covered a lot of territory - sometime the pace was a touch fast, but we didn't miss anything. Peter was an excllent guide and provided a lot of detail to enrich the experience - he had no need to apologise for the Liverpuldian accent.
