Discover Berlin's tumultuous modern history on a guided walking tour of its most significant Third Reich and Cold War sites. Visit iconic landmarks like the Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, and Soviet War Memorial. Reflect at the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, a poignant tribute to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust/Shoah.

See the site of Hitler’s Bunker and the massive Ministry of Aviation, where the GDR was founded in 1949. Explore the former Gestapo and SS headquarters, now home to the Topography of Terror exhibition.

Learn about the Berlin Wall, constructed in 1961, and hear stories of the deadly "death strip." View a preserved 200-meter section of the Wall and the spots where daring escapes occurred, as well as tales of those who tragically did not succeed.

Conclude at Checkpoint Charlie and hear about the fall of the Wall in 1989 and the journey to German unity.

Paul was our tour guide and he was absolutely fantastic. Due to travel issues, half of our party wasn't able to go the day we scheduled but Paul understood the situation and invited the part of our party that missed that first day to join him again the next afternoon. My child decided that she'd rather not do the tour (it was so HOT and humid) so I took my sister again. She said that Paul included different stories and information and kept her completely engaged again. The only thing I'd think to change is to add a 10 min break on those excruciatingly hot days so that the guests can grab more water.

This was a very relaxed & enjoyable explore through a captivating period of history. Our guide was also able to provide us with plenty of tips to add to our Berlin itinerary. Definitely recommend!

Tour was extremely informative, tour guide very knowledgeable (Georgia). Enough humour without trivialising some of the serious points. Only issue was finding the tour at the start, this could have been more obvious in what was a very busy area.(Brandenburg gate). Would highly recommend.

Finding the tour guide was awful. He wasn’t wearing any Viator branding and we couldn’t see him for a long time until we just randomly asked someone - not a great start. The tour itself was great. Jimmy was really informative and we learnt a lot. I would recommend the tour.

The walking tour in Berlin was absolutely brilliant! Visiting historic sites like Checkpoint Charlie really brought the city’s complex past to life. The tour was incredibly informative—our guide shared so much valuable context about the Cold War, the Berlin Wall, and the city’s division and reunification. It was fascinating to stand in places where such significant events took place and to understand their importance in world history. A perfect balance of history and storytelling—highly recommended for anyone visiting Berlin!
