5.00Great experience! Great overview of the entire Big Island! Chris was a super knowledgeable guide who provided so many stories of life on the island. Stops at the coffee plantation, Volcanos National Park, Big Island Candies and Rainbow Falls, made for a perfect day. I highly recommend Kailani Tours!

5.00We had a wonderful trip. The van was not over packed and felt like a private tour. Our guide Nico was born and raised in the area we toured and had tons of history and how the areas have changed over the years he has lived there. A full day and very worth every minute . Recommend this trip for anyone who wants to get the the a good view of how coffee grows, volcanoes have built the island or just get to know the southern section of the island.

5.00Our tour guide yesterday was extremely knowledgeable and informative. Grant shared a lot of interesting background information and explained everything clearly, which made the experience much more meaningful and engaging. You could really tell he knew the area very well and was passionate about what he was doing. Overall, it was a great experience and we learned a lot. Highly recommended!

5.00This was a great tour for our short time on the island. Derek was amazing. He was able to balance our desire to linger and the schedule. Coffee was generous at several stops. Lunch at the Volcano House was a worth the price and the view was beyond description. Made the best of a rainy day! Bring along extra cash for chocolates and bakery items! Ask for Derek -- he made the day!

5.00We had an exceptional full-day tour of the Big Island with Paul from Kailani Tours, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. This was a long day (about 10 hours), but Paul managed the pacing beautifully — we never felt rushed. His knowledge of the island, its history, geology, and culture was impressive, and he shared it in a way that was engaging and easy to follow, not scripted or overly tour-guidey. Highlights included Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park, waterfalls, black sand beach, and scenic stops we never would have found on our own. Paul was thoughtful about timing, weather (which was not great but he had raincoats and umbrellas on hand), and crowds, adjusting the day as needed to give us the best possible experience. He was also incredibly patient, friendly, and genuinely interested in making sure everyone was having a great day. If you’re considering a Big Island tour and want someone knowledgeable, professional, and truly passionate about Hawaiʻi, ask for Paul. This was one of the highlights of our trip.

5.00We had an incredible private Big Island highlights volcano day tour with Kailani Tours Hawaii, and it was truly unforgettable. The van was very comfortable, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches like drinks and snacks throughout the day. Thia was amazing — incredibly knowledgeable about the island, its history, and the volcanic landscape. Every stop felt intentional and special. We loved visiting the Portuguese bakery, exploring the black sand beach, walking through a lava tube, and even getting to see a glow from the volcano, which was absolutely surreal. The pacing was perfect, the stops were fascinating, and the whole experience felt personalized and relaxed. This was hands down one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend Kailani Tours Hawaii — we couldn’t have asked for a better day! 🌋🌴

5.00I’ve been on dozens of all day tours around all kinds of interesting places and this tour (guide) was among the best of the best…every need was considered and catered to, whether it be a beverage, some rain protection, or a hot towel after a walk through a lava tube. Toby was a wonderfully knowledgeable and and entertaining guide—he provided a fantastic balance between history, culture, interesting fun facts, nature and animal information, plus some other treats that made the day feel like a complete Hawaiian experience. The only negative thing I can say about this day is that it has now set the bar so high, any other day-long tour will pale in comparison. I guess that’s the price you have to pay once you’ve experienced greatness. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!
