We went on a rainy day. It was wonderful to enter this tiny blooming world within a dome. Lovely to look at the many plants, and there are a number of colorful cockattoos. The entire dome can be seen in half an hour. If its good weather if course you can go on to explore Queen Elizabeth park. Opens only at 10:00 AM which is late, in our opinion. We waited for it to open. There are restrooms on site.

We visited this tropical garden in a the bubble. The entry fee was expensive for the amount of time we were in there for approx 15-20 minutes. The tropical birds were clearly stressed at being in there , and did not look happy, pulling out their own feathers … (see photos) there were a good range of tropical plants on display. The outside gardens were well laid out and there were some good displays in the old quarry areas.

A tropical oasis featuring tons of flora & fauna & parrots ~ A delightful walk through the tropics with a multitude of flowers, palms, parrots and bridges over koi ponds. During any day, or a colder, wet day, an escape to a far away place. I walked around a couple times as each walk displayed something new.

This was so tranquil. The manicures lawns & the flowerbeds are beautiful. The paths around the Conservatory to see the Parrots was cool. I highly recommend this .

The conservatory has excellent plant life to admire, along with some exotic birds. The park is attractive to amble around in afterwards. It is a quick visit though, if you don't plan on tourign the park

It’s a pretty collection of tropical plants and parrots, but the way it was written up seemed like there would be a whole lot more different kinds of small, colorful songbirds birds just flying around.

Very fun, just a little small. Lots to see though! The parrots are definitely the focal point! However avoid weekends if possible as the place was packed.

Both children and adults will enjoy visiting the conservatory. The children get a sheet for items to locate during the visit. This kept them very engaged and in fact we went around the circuit twice looking of things we missed. There is so much to observe as you go through. The variety of birds is simply amazing. Then when you are done, take a nice walk through the park. Certainly a hidden gem in the city.

During winter, the trails up to the Conservatory are frozen over with snow… more challenging to reach… but once there, it is BEAUTIFUL!! The birds and foliage are breathtaking!! Highly enjoyed and will return on my next trip to Vancouver!

Visiting Vancouver on a chill and rainy Saturday, we opted to visit the indoor Bloedel Floral Conservatory and aviary located at the top of Queen Elizabeth Park. Located at Vancouver high point at 500 ft elevation, the stunning structure itself is a triodetic dome 140 feet (43 m) in diameter, 70 feet (21 m) high, and is made up of 1,490 plexiglass bubbles of different sizes and 2,324 pieces of extruded aluminum tubing. It contains 8 air circulating units and 24 mist sprayers to control temperature and humidity for the three climate zones inside the dome. [17] The controlled environment supports More than 100 exotic birds, koi fish, and 500 exotic plants and flowers including Green-winged, Hahn’s Dwarf and Blue and Gold Macaws; African, Amazon, and Eclectus parrots and a Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. The larger birds are clipped and perched, but the numerous smaller birds are free flight and equally entertaining. Fun visit.
