The highlight of any Cambridge experience our shared punt tours will take you on Rutherford's quality assured 45-minute river tour through the backs of the colleges, showing you the most breathtaking views Cambridge has to offer.
You will be guided by one of our own professional chauffeurs who will bring Cambridge to life with the fascinating story this city has to offer.
Your tickets can be purchased on a walk-up basis on-station or for the best deal plan ahead and save money with an online e-ticket.
All our boats have raised seating and tables.

5.00This tour was a great way to see a part of Cambridge you can’t see on foot. We grabbed a Chelsea bun before setting off. We were provided blankets and umbrellas for optimum comfort. Jack was our guide and he was filled with historical knowledge. This is a must do when visiting Cambridge.

4.00The walk was great, but being at night the scenery was not valued well, I would recommend that people take it before dark. Our guide made the walk very enjoyable. The only bad thing that delayed us 20min the tour and did not warn us.

1.00Didn’t get to experience Punting booked through Viator because this is closed Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday’s this entire season!! After spending $127.55 on the train to get us both here, we were shocked it was no operational!!!

5.00The communication with Rutherford’s was great, they gave friendly advice via phone. Our guide really impressed us! John was not only giving us a guided tour, he was able to answer all of our questions with great motivation. We want to repeat our punting experience spoon!

1.00Do NOT book with this company. Having been on several punt tours before, I knew what to expect when taking my friend visiting Cambridge on one. I hadn't booked with Rutherford's before but now I see why their company is so much farther down the river and not in prime position. Our tour lacked any kind of information about the colleges and was cut short because the guide couldn't be bothered to go all the way up to the mathematical bridge. Instead we viewed it from a distance. Most of the journey we instead heard all about how the guide despised self punters as they clog up the river. My guest unfortunately told me that that they listened to nearby punts for information on the buildings along the river instead. I raised this with the company directly and unfortunately more than a month on I am still waiting for a refund despite being offered one. Really quite poor service all around. Overall, avoid this company at all costs and book with one of the more popular services upstream to avoid disappointment and get the most from your money.

5.00We had the most wonderful time on our Rutherford Punting Tour! The river ride was incredibly relaxing and offered a truly unique perspective of Cambridge's stunning colleges and historic bridges. Our tour guide, Patrick, was fantastic—so friendly and full of great knowledge. He pointed out all the famous landmarks and shared fascinating historical facts and anecdotes, which really made the journey feel special. It was a perfect way to experience the heart of Cambridge, a city so rich in history and tradition. Highly recommend this tour!
