Our tour guide Sara was excellent. We didn’t know what to expect in Ghent as it was just a day trip, but it went very well even with the crummy weather she really gave us a good feel for the city and the differences between it and the other large cities in Belgium. She was a local born and raised so that was very helpful and gave us a lot of insight into differences between the north and south of Belgium and all the major cities. The city itself is fairly modern, but has a lot to offer travelers. Would highly recommend to anyone going to Ghent without any previous experience.

We did the true or false tour as team building with the company. It was very fun, funny and educational. And mainly thanks to the guide. Highly recommended!

Nick was our private guide and also the owner Charlie Tours. He was especially accommodating with our mobility issues and was extremely knowledgeable about history and Gent. He even went to buy water for us when the coffee shop we stopped at didn’t have any to purchase. You can tell Nick lives and breathes his city of Gent. Don’t hesitate to book this tour.

AMAZING Tour!!! Nick was one one of the highlights of our Belgium trip! He showed us unique places that we would not have seen on our own and opened our eyes to the way of life in Ghent! He is so passionate about his city and you could feel the excitement with each place we stopped! He is so knowledgable about the history of Ghent but we also learned so much about life in Ghent in 2022. He set the bar very high for the rest of the trip and we fell in love with Belgium's best kept secret!

What a great walking tour in Gent! Our 7-people group joined Nick, a young, dynamic, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable guide tour. We had several stops along the way. Chocolate, pralines, cuberdons, and Belgian gin made an amazing and pleasant experience. The two hour walking tour was perfect with Charlie Tours.

This was the best tour we’ve taken in a long time! Nick was professional, funny, knowledgeable, and passionate. It was our first time in Gent and we left feeling like like locals! We have a three year old son and a six year old daughter, so three hours seemed like it might be tough to pull off ... but Nick included them in the tour, quizzed them about what we were learning, and made organized a handful of stops at local chocolate shops. HIGHLY recommend this tour for couples and families! If we could rate the tour with six stars, we would. We’ll be back!

Our guide Nick was fantastic! He is a native of Ghent and a terrific host. We learned a tremendous amount of history in a fun way. We have a couple of stops for coffee and chocolate. We took the tour with our twins 5 month old boys and Nick was very helpful. I highly recommend Nick at Charlie Tours.

My wife and I joined Vera for the “Off the Beaten Path” Tour of Ghent on Christmas Eve. Our three hour tour around the city was very enlightening & informative. Vera, a Ghent native, proved herself to be highly knowledgeable about Ghent and engaged us constantly with her entertaining approach and details about the sights we saw. She also had pictures/photos and maps that she pulled out of her bag to help us visualize certain sights and historical events around Ghent. It was surprising how quickly our tour came to its end. The three hours flew by so quickly! Thanks Vera for making our tour so enjoyable!
