We spent four hours learning, laughing, cooking, (dancing!), and eating along with a group of 12 fellow participants. Tharnassus taught us traditional cooking techniques and told stories of the role of different types of foods in Greek traditions and life. We toured the local market to pick up ingredients, then cooked and ate family style. So much fun and delicious!

Every dish tasted amazing—even cooked by all of us non-Greeks. I liked the olives and grapes to snack on while we cooked. Vasia was hilarious and made the market tour and cooking time fun. I liked how she had us introduce ourselves to the group. The space is elegant and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly—just the right size for an experience like this. I would have loved to learn some simple Greek to practice buying foods and even bartering at the market. There probably was not time for that, however.

Fun actually vity that was very family friendly. As a solo traveler I was placed with a group that consisted of a large extended family with several younger children that many people may have found off-putting, but our host handled with grace and patience. The market tour was fun and enlightening, and preparing the meal was fun, although I'm not sure why we went to any great lengths to mark which pieces were ours that we'd made as they all got mixed up in the end when it came time to eat what we'd made. Regardless, the food was delicious, and the experience enjoyable.

This was a fun interactive activity for our group of eight friends. Our chef, Thanos was great as both cooking instructor and cultural informant. We learnt a lot about the lives of Greeks through their food. Wonderful experience!!
