Tour was a must do at least once. Our tour guide, JC, was super informative, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The lunch at the beach was hands down, a 5+. Delicious steak tacos and a couple beers. The beach itself is what brought our review down to a 4, but really we didn’t have time for the beach after we ate anyway. Would definitely recommend this tour!

Air conditioning on the bus didn’t work well. Made for a long hot ride. Guide was good. Not much time allowed at the beach.

Carlos is awesome tour guide, very knowledgeable about Mayan people! Very upbeat and personable! But skip the beach! The beach portion was disappointing. Smelled like fish. Not a relaxing place. Sandbags everywhere and fishing boats.

Walking involved at the ruins. Great tour. Lunch was good and also included two drinks! Our guide, Mr. Estrada, was wonderful and had great info. Beach is crowded.

nice bus, Elsio was a fun guide. 5 stars for him down part was stopping 20 minutes at a pineapple stand not on the agenda to buy fruit from the return guides relatives. lost time here for ample time having lunch at stop two and time to sit on the beach and relax. 3 stars

The van ride from the pier to the Mayan ruins was narrated by our tour guide, but we couldn’t hear very much of his presentation because he didn’t use a microphone and speakers until the final few minutes of the ride. Between the road noise, his accent and how fast he spoke, we didn’t get much out of it. He was a very pleasant man and gave a good tour once we arrived. We skipped the lunch at the beach because it was raining.

The local tour company waited for the other tourists that they collected from other locations (not from ship). We waited for almost 2 hours before our bus arrived, loaded the additional passengers, and left. It took an hour drive to the Chaccohoben Mayan ruins. The bus was full and the temperature inside the bus was 33C. It took 30 min for the AC to work but only dropped to 26C 30 min later and stayed that way. The tour is supposed to take 5 hours but since we already lost 2 hours (waiting for other tourists), we canceled the Beach part where we were supposed to have lunch and traveled back to the port for another hour so we don't miss our cruise ship's departure.

The ride to and from the ruins is about 1 hour each way. Although they are amazing, we spent about one hour there. Lots of transportation time
