Unleash your inner distiller at Stornoway's Gin School with this hands-on experience for 2. Together, you and your partner will craft your own unique gin from a selection of over 50 botanicals, guided by an expert distiller.

Start with a refreshing Landfall G&T and a full gin tasting that immerses you in the world of gin-making. After designing your flavour profile, you'll distill your recipe on mini traditional copper pot stills and take home a full-size 70cl bottle of your creation.

This 3-hour experience is perfect for gin lovers looking to learn and enjoy together.

You must advise us 24 hours in advance to change an attendee to driving or not driving as we pour the measures for the gin tasting in advance of you arriving to give you the smoothest experience while you are with us.

Over 18's only, we cannot accommodate small children or babies on our experiences

If you are lucky enough to look under the age of 25, you may be asked for government issued ID to confirm your age. If you are not able to provide us with appropriate proof of age, you may be denied attendance at the gin school, and no refund will be provided.

What To Expect

A 3 hour Gin School experience, each booking is for 1 or 2 people sharing one still... After a welcome drink - a perfect serve of Landfall Gin - you'll start your course with the full gin tasting experience, where you will also learn about the key botanicals that we use in gin, and how we developed the recipe for multi award winning Landfall Gin. After this you will learn how to build a flavour profile for your own gin, and your distiller will guide you to design your own unique recipe from our choice of over 50 botanicals. Next, you'll weigh out and distil your recipe on one of the mini stills, to create a full size 70cl bottle of your gin to take home, and then hand label and finish your bottle. - Drivers option available with soft drink on arrival and 5cl mini bottles of Landfall and premium tonic to take home instead of alcoholic samples during gin tasting.* *You must advise us 24 hours in advance to change an attendee to driving or not driving as we pour the measures for the gin tasting in advance of you arriving to give you the smoothest experience while you are with us.

Gin School! Such a brilliant afternoon spent learning how to make gin and the inspiration behind the making of their gin - Landfall. We were able to design our own unique gin, choose our botanicals and then distill a full size bottle of our own gin to take home with us. Very informative, great value for money - with gin tastings and a welcome gin as part of the package. We found the whole experience fascinating. One to one attention and advice from Gez, made us feel we knew what we were doing and we left extremely proud of the gin we made - its delicious! Thanks Gez.

Gin school was an absolute success. Gez was an amazing host and walked us through the process while having us taste both of their gins and even a surprise! Snacks were also provided as we waited for the still to work its magic. Thanks for the wonderful experience, we can’t wait to try our first batch of Tippy Ricky Gin. This is a highly recommended experience

My partner and I enjoyed Gin School today with Gez which we found to be very informative, organised but easy going. First of all, it was very easy to book via their website, the premises were easy to find and once in Gez introduced himself before making us feel very relaxed (the welcome drink helped too 😉). We learnt about the history of the distillery before learning about the Landfall gin itself. The real education came next about how to serve and drink gin which I leant a lot about before he explained the different distilling processes available and what he uses as we would. Now came the fun part when we chose the botanicals (with must needed guidance) for our own gin before distilling it ourselves. Throughout the whole process Gez was happy to answer all our questions in a way that was clear, made sense and easy to understand. We hope to return to Stornoway again the future and Gin school will definitely be on our list of activities to do, not just for the gin but to see how the course has evolved…….. mostly for the gin though…… which is amazing! Thank-you Gez and Stornoway distillery for a great afternoon.
