We will visit the three neighbourhoods of Berat, Mangalemi - Gorica and Castle itself. Will walk to the most beautiful spot in the castle. Berat is a city in central Albania, known for its rich history, stunning architecture, and cultural heritage. Often referred to as the "City of a Thousand Windows," it is renowned for its Ottoman-era houses with distinctive large windows. Berat is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for its well-preserved Ottoman architecture and historical significance. Key features of Berat include: • The Castle of Berat (Kalaja e Beratit): A historic hilltop fortress that has been inhabited since the 4th century BC, offering panoramic views of the city and surrounding landscape. • The Mangalem and Gorica Quarters: Two traditional neighborhoods that represent different architectural styles, with Mangalem being known for its Ottoman houses, and Gorica connected to the city by a bridge.
