Take this Delphi & Meteora Three Days Tour to enjoy a unique trip visiting two of Greece’s most impressive UNESCO World Heritage sites.

The archeological site of Delphi with Apollo temple, also known as the ‘navel of the world’ and the stunning rock-tower monasteries of Meteora.

Begin with pick up from Athens and board your luxury air conditioned bus with your professional guide.

Visit the Delphi archeological site where the temple of Apollo was considered as ‘the navel of the wold’ in ancient Greece, a site that has played an extremely important role at the evolution and political situation of ancient Athens and the rest of Greece.

We also visit the impressive Meteora. Meaning “suspended in air” the name Meteora soon came to encompass the entire rock community of monasteries, the biggest and most important group of monasteries in Greece after those in Mount Athos. The rock monasteries have been characterized by UNESCO as a unique phenomenon of cultural heritage.

The ageless Monasteries, containing priceless historical and religious treasures, stand between earth and sky atop huge rocks. Meteora is considered one of the most inspiring area of mainland Greece, and its monasteries are one of the country’s most unique attractions. The monasteries are perched on top of towers of sandstone, which for centuries provided totally inaccessible retreats for the monks. It is also the biggest group of monasteries in Greece after those in Mount Athos. In the past there were no steps and the main access to the monasteries was by means of a net that was hitched over a hook and hoisted up by rope and a hand cranked windlass to winch towers overhanging the chasm. Each community developed its own resources and by the end of the 14th century, the Grand Meteoron emerged as the dominant community. The rock monasteries have been characterized by UNESCO as a unique phenomenon of cultural heritage. You will enjoy a guided tour of two of the six monasteries.

  • Well-organized, fun, and reasonable price

Absolutely phenomenal experience! In addition to the phenomenal Delphi and Meteora, there was built in time for smaller excursions such as the village of Arachova, and the battle site of Thermopylae. We had two tour guides, both were very friendly and spoke fluent English. We did the 3-day tour which was at a relaxed pace and allowed time for resting, shopping, and the smaller excursions. The 2 day tour seemed more hectic and condensed to just the historical sites. Overall I would highly recommend this tour because of how well organized it was, and the very reasonable price, and phenomenal customer service. 2 nights in hotels, admission at the sites, 4 meals, as well as transfer to and from our hotel were completely paid for and fully coordinated. Even though we stayed in "tourist class" the hotels were still quite nice and had free wifi. The taxi coordinator (Nasos) was very responsive on whatsapp and helped us rearrange our taxi time free of charge when our plans changed. Amazing 5/5!

  • 2D1N tour would be more value for money

We selected this trip as we thought it would be less rushed than the day trips or the 2D1N trip. However, it’s exactly the same as you join the day trippers to Delphi for the first day and they leave you at Delphi after lunch. Thereafter you join the 2D1N group to Meteora after lunch on the second day at around noontime. You get to spend a day at Delphi on your own but you don’t get any extra time at the attractions (temple and museum). There is nothing much to do at Delphi without transport though it is a nice village in the mountains with nice views of the valley from the hotel. The buses are nice and modem with WiFi and chargers on board. The group size is nice, less than 20. I would said that the 2D1N tour would be more value for money as you pay roughly 100 euros more per pax just for a night’s stay at a 3 star hotel and dinner. Would prefer that meals are not included as we had dinner at the hotel but would have preferred to dine elsewhere.
