5.00This was the most magical trip from Paris! Étretat in winter is something mesmerizing. Deserted beaches, a leaden sea, and insanely powerful cliffs against a low sky. Our guide led us along the most spectacular trails, telling local legends that made everything even more mysterious. And then we were treated to that very picnic! A stylish table with a view of the Atlantic, warm blankets, a thermos of aromatic mulled wine, and amazing French snacks. Sitting there, listening to the sound of the surf, and feeling your cheeks burn from the frost – it's priceless. We returned to Paris with a surprise gift and a feeling that we had visited another, wilder and more majestic world.
