Let’s meet in the morning and head out to discover the lush, wild landscapes of eastern Tenerife. This side of the island is home to ancient forests, dramatic ridges, and a rich variety of plant life found nowhere else.

We’ll start by visiting three iconic viewpoints in Anaga, offering breathtaking panoramas of the coastline and rugged peaks. From there, we’ll step into the enchanted world of the laurel forest, a rare relict ecosystem that feels like a journey back in time.

Our hike begins at an altitude of 420 meters and typically lasts around 3 hours, depending on the group’s pace and experience. Along the way, we’ll explore a picturesque mountain gorge and walk alongside an impressive man-made water canal — a testament to the ingenuity of local communities centuries ago. The route includes a 220-meter ascent, making it both scenic and moderately challenging.

Anaga is truly an enchanted forest, and the title of the experience clearly reflects the journey. We completed a focused 3-hour route that traversed valleys and mountains, including passages near caves and old water channels. The landscape and the resulting views from the high points are genuinely incredible. Eugenio is a perfect guide—knowledgeable, careful, and genuinely takes excellent care of his guests. We especially appreciated the nice traditional snacks and wine offered after our hike. He brought us to unique places we would never have discovered on our own. This whole day with Eugenio made us very happy, and we highly recommend his trips. The trip to Anaga was an incredibly emotional and vivid experience. Even though it was a small group tour, the organization was flawless; every stop and activity unfolded like a perfectly planned script. Our guide managed the route so well that we had time to visit several extra viewpoints before the crowds arrived. We even encountered a huge herd of local Canarian goats, which usually roam far down in the gorge! Anaga truly is unique, offering an amazing diversity of plants, cacti, and endemic species. The route was highly scenic and quite unique. It was also diverse, featuring visits to various viewpoints. Throughout the entire hike, we only encountered about ten other travelers. To my absolute astonishment, I bumped into a friend who had booked the exact same tour through a different platform, but with the same Activity Provider—Trektenerife. Our group was small, consisting of just three participants. This allowed us to maintain an excellent pace, as everyone was similarly fit and well-prepared. Although it was technically a group tour, there were only three participants plus our guide, Eugenio. I was extremely impressed by the organization and the planning; everything-every stop, every activity-unfolded like a pre-written script. Even the weather seemed to be planned in advance! I mean, as we moved along, the clouds above us cleared up, which was perfect for taking photos, while we could clearly see the rain falling in the distant mountains. Of course, a light rain jacket is definitely essential for this trip, just in case-it's necessary in the mountains, especially in the East of Tenerife. In addition to the main walking route, we visited several different viewpoints, and managed to do this in the morning before the usual crowds arrived. Absolutely outstanding!

My trip to Anaga was such an incredibly emotional and vivid experience that I decided to write a review a few days later, just to make sure I was being reasonable. But I am still very much in that magical state! Anaga is so beautiful and diverse that it probably deserves multiple visits. Of course, a lot depends on the guide and your companions on the tour, and I was extremely lucky with both the weather and our guide, Eugenio. We completed the walking route quite quickly, which gave us time to visit several extra spots. Literally as soon as we were leaving the eastern part of the island, the rain started, showing just how changeable the weather is here. I definitely recommend this tour!
