The adventure begins at 8:30am when you guide picks you up in a rugged 4x4 at your Reykjavik hotel. Journey to the Golden Circle and your first stop, Thingvellir National Park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004, see the world’s oldest existing parliament established in 930 AD. Thingvellir is also home to lake Thingvallvatan, the largest natural lake in Iceland. Continue on to Geysir, a geothermal field of hot springs and the remains of an old volcano. Explore the pools of boiling mud and watch the Strokkur geyser erupt. This extremely active geyser shoots hot water up into the air as high as 30 meters every five to ten minutes. Next on the agenda is the waterfall of Gulfoss. Watch water from the Langjökull glacier rush through the large canyon. If weather allows, venture down next to the falls and feel the mist as you approach the gorges. Take a drive to Kerið, a colorful lake on top of a crater. Walk around and see the rich hues of the crater clash with the milky turquoise waters of the lake. Travel on to Hvalfjörður fjord (the Fjord of Whales), named after the great number of whales that can be seen here. These long fjords are bordered with many waterfalls, making for a picture-perfect view. After a day of exploring, head to the Secret Lagoon to relax in the warm water of this natural thermal pool. Your tour concludes with drop-off back at your hotel.

We contacted Try Iceland Tours for a private Extended Golden Circle Tour, and heard back almost immediately. Throughout the process, Kinga was in touch quickly, and full of helpful advice. No bureaucracy nor replies from different folks who never seem to remember who you are. She promised us that Adam would meet us in front of our hotel at 8:30 on last Monday, and the meeting occurred exactly as planned--no drama. Adam was very friendly, helpful, and focused on our questions and our needs, including helping my wife in and out of the SUV and helping her to find a place to relax, if she didn't want to walk down into the canyons. He was full of information about the sites and Icelandic culture, and made extra stops when we requested them. (My wife loves Icelandic horses, and we had a great impromptu stop along the road to see and pet these docile horses!) Everything went according to plan, and it was an amazing day. Totally recommend them. Thanks to Kinga and Adam!

Our tour with Adam on Friday, March 29, 2019 was awesome. He is the perfect tour guide and we enjoyed our 10 hours exploring Iceland. Thank you so much for providing the car seat for our 5 year old grandson. We appreciated your patience with us as we toured with a small child. Your explanation of each site we visited was interesting and your instructions very clear. The tour provided just the right timing in stops for Ian to run and enjoy the outdoors as we walked the sites. The restaurant you selected for our dinner was perfect and the food delicious. It was a nice break which gave us time to get ready for our northern lights experience. We were so happy that we were able to see the natural light show and the photos you took will help us revisit that experience in the future. Thank you again and best regards for you in the future. We recommend you to anyone who may be visiting Iceland!

The five of us were looking for a private tour of the golden circle and the northern lights, after carefully doing some research, we chose Try Iceland Tours. Adam was great, he picked us up at the rental we were staying at in Reykjavik and we were on our way. While driving and when we made our stops Adam was very informative about the area and formation of some of these wonders you will see on this tour. While there is not guarantee that you will see the northern lights, chances are if you are with Adam you will. The first place we stopped we did not have much luck after an hour and a half. Adam then said lets go to another place and he said if that didnt work he knew of another good spot. Well the second spot we hit was awesome, and we saw the lights several times. We learned that you just dont see them with the naked eye as there is some technical aspects that go along with it. Adam is very knowledgeable in how your camera should be setup etc. to get great pictures. He really knows this stuff. When we were driving back to town after seeing the lights, you could see the massive amounts of people getting off all of these tours buses in varying locations to see the lights. I am so glad we chose Adam and had a private tour as the experience would not have been the same if we went with a large group tour and I dont think you would get the same experience anywhere close to what we had. I highly recommend Adam and Try Iceland Tours and if we ever get back to Iceland again we will definitely use Adam Thanks Adam Rick,Leslie,Tee,Carisa,Ryan

We visited Iceland during the end of 2017. Adam was very punctual to pick us up and very flexible in terms of the plan for the day. Despite having a fixed plan for the tour, he tailored it to our tastes and went out of his way to ensure we made the best of the day (and night too!) - be it looking for the best view of the Northern Lights or looking for some specific local cuisine. We'd highly recommend his service to anyone who'd want to experience Iceland.
