The tour to Melk, Salzburg, and Hallstatt on January 2, 2026 hosted by 7Travel was truly amazing. Our guide, Ms. Lily, was very knowledgeable, informative, and articulate—she was absolutely fantastic. Even though the trip lasted more than 12 hours, I never felt bored. She even played classical music Austria is famous for while explaining the history of great composers like Mozart, which made the journey even more immersive. The only downside for me was the walking tour in Salzburg. We didn’t have enough time to stop and take photos while the local guide was explaining the history. Salzburg is quite large, and the walk back to the bus area was far, so there wasn’t enough time to properly explore the city. With winter, snowfall, and shorter daylight hours, time felt very limited since we had to proceed to Hallstatt right after. That said, this just gave me more reason to come back to Salzburg in spring or summer, when the days are longer and the city can be explored more thoroughly.

About the tour overall: 1. Sophie, the guide was exceptional and she made sure that we listen to classics of Mozart, Beethoven all the way. She is from Kiev studying in Austria and possess excellent knowledge about not only historical significances but also about music. She deserves support and appreciation. 2. Tour starts from the Tourist Info and finish at same place so it’s convenient. Although the official time for reporting was at 07.50 and tour was to start at 08.00, our tour started at 07.40 AM since everyone arrived much early. So please keep that in mind to reach sooner if you can. 3. Melk is practically a loo stop so please treat it as it is. 4. Many other tourists felt that Salzburg was a rush but we liked it. 5. The highlight is Hallstatt as we had plenty of time to roam around the main promenade twice. Suggestions: 1. Carry some light snacks for en route as there’s no stop for even coffee or breakfast or Salzburg till you reach there around 11.30 AM. Thus, considering that one have to reach the spot by 07.30 or so for reporting many may not be able to have anything during morning. 2. We did not follow the group for the tour once we reach Salzburg as the time there is limited and it’s a walkable city so we crossed the river by one bridge and returned by another and yet reached the bus on time. 3. In this trip, do not expect to sit at peace and have a meal anywhere. So plan accordingly. 4. Carry sufficient Euros in small bills. In Salzburg’s small markets, Hallstatt’s small shops etc. insisted on cash alone. Overall it’s a good trip for the time and distance covered.

We had a fantastic day on this tour. However it would be better with more time in Salzburg. The Melk Abbey could be missed out to allow for more time. Lilly our Guide for the day made it enjoyable with her information, stories and musical additions.

Not a lot of time in each place. The three stops were lovely but at the first (an Abbey) literally no time to see anything. Salzburg was about right but everything was rushed. No time for relaxing. Hallstadt seemed a bit too long bug still lovely. Expect massive crowds and long waits to eat. No toilets on the bus.

Lydia and Dali provided us with a great experience. Lydia's commentary during the tour made the trip very interesting. You would be very lucky if you get this team for your trip. The meeting point was at a clearly defined place. Started and ended on schedule.

It‘s too Long far for a Daily Trip, and you will stay more then 7 Hours only on the Bus ! Then we started at 7 (with a pick up from hotel) and then we went in a very cold day to an other Meeting Point where we stayed out ok cold weather (snowing too) for waiting the finally Bus . We missed the visit to the second City because of bad weather and an accident on the way and when finally came in Salszburg at 15:00 haf only 1,5hour in all for eating(we had any breakfast and any lunch, visit the City ….that means nothing ! We didn’t reach any christmas markt and any old City ! A nightmare! We turn then back in a 3,5hours still in Bus to Wien finally! Not to do it !and the Guide continues to stress us with speaking all the time and asked us only to come back soon to the Bus stop ! Or they leaved without us…a nightmare

Very organized and meeting certain schedule. Friendly guide. The walk is fantastic. If you have little time, it's worth it. But if you have more time, I do it by car, because it's all very busy for such wonderful places!!!
