Our full day trip from Vienna shows you the must-see places in Austria in a comfortable and flexible manner.
Your adventure begins with a scenic drive to Austrian Alps, where you will find out the facts of the highlight of the Wachau Valley, the magnificent Benedictine Abbey of Melk.
As you continue your journey, you will experience the natural splendour of the Salzkammergut Lake District, a paradise of serene waters and stunning alpine scenery.
The next highlight of the trip is the unique village of Hallstatt, located right on the shores of an Alpine lake with an amazing view of the huge mountains rising steeply from a narrow valley.
The next highlight is the City of the Sound of Music - Salzburg, where you will have free time to stroll through the Old Town, Mirabel garden, Mozart's Birthplace and enjoy the world capital of classical music.
If you find yourself enchanted by this magnificent city, you can stay there longer and return to Vienna at your own expenses by train.

Please note that you will cover approx. 660 km. by motorway on this day. It is approx. 8,5 hours drive with multiple stops. You will spend minimum 1 hour in Hallstatt and max. 2 hours in Salzburg. In case of traffic jams, the time can be shortened.
This tour is created for inquisitive travellers who want to visit the most important cities in a short time. If you want to get to know these cities in more details, we strongly advise you to go to each of these cities separately.
To save your free time in the cities, we also recommend you to bring light snacks and water. You can eat on the bus as long as you don't disturb other tourists.
Tour is not recommended for infants and very slow-moving disabled persons.

2.00I’m giving this tour a two-star rating because, while the locations we visited were truly beautiful, the overall experience was disappointing. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, but he appeared very tired or unwell, which seemed to affect his patience and demeanor throughout the day. That said, he did make a kind gesture at the end of the tour by giving us salt as a souvenir, which was appreciated. The stop to see the Abbey felt unnecessary and should be removed from the itinerary in favor of allowing more time at the final stop. Because our trip took place during Christmas break, everything was very crowded, making the already rushed schedule even more frustrating. There was no time allotted for lunch at the second stop or for dinner at the final stop, and the entire tour felt hurried from beginning to end. Additionally, the bus driver began driving without first counting passengers, which felt unsafe. On the return trip, which lasted nearly four hours, there were no bathroom breaks at all. Overall, this tour needs significant restructuring to improve pacing, safety, and the overall customer experience.

5.00I am so thankful I found this tour company and they still had availability as the other tour company I first booked with (months ago, knowing we were going in “high” Christmas season) cancelled the Salzburg portion of the trip a few days prior to our booking, but only offered a 30% refund. We had a great time with our guide and Hallstatt was as picturesque as I imagined.

5.00The tour has a very rigid schedule, but it worked well for me. I almost wish there was more time in Salzburg because it is such a large city, but Hallstatt was gorgeous as well. Easy way to see the three cities. Just be aware that it is pretty fast paced and you may not be able to have time to sit down and eat in a restaurant.

1.00In summary, the pick up was a mess & promised partial refund was not issued to me. i asked them to re-confirm the day before the location and time of pickup and they did. the morning of pickup i waited at the pickup location for one and a half hours. During that wait, they did not respond to any of my messages. eventually they picked me up and took me to the wrong bus. Due to delay, I missed the first tour stop. I was transferred from the wrong bus to the correct bus about a couple hours later on route. I reached out to Viator with a complaint about my experience, i was promised a partial refund. i have not received a refund yet.

5.00The trip we had was wonderful. There was no hurry and covered most of the part in Hallstatt n Salzburg. People together were so amazing and our guide ALEXANDER, he had a great knowledge of history and even suggested so many places to visit at our free time. I think we choose the right place to book our tour with such a wonderful iternary and thanks to bus driver for such a safe service.
