The day begins with a nice breakfast buffet to prepare for the needed energy for the days activities.

After that it will be water activities all day. We start the tour with the warm pools that have been etched onto the mountain side, later proceeding down to the turquoise thermal river for a relaxing lunch along its banks. After lunch, we will jump in to the warm waters of the river before transitioning to the glorious waterfalls and caves. Before entering the caves, we will admire the view of the waterfalls that guard the natural caves we will be exploring. In the caves we will use our lamps to walk through the warm waters extruding from within, explore the interior waterfalls, and observe the origin point of the waters that give Tolantongo it's name. Tolantongo, meaning "place of warm moving water," will prove to give you an experience in Mexico unlike any other. (River and cave exploration are contingent on good weather in days prior to allow for an optimal experience).

Really enjoyed my day! The hot springs are so beautiful and watching the mountains while lounging in the spa was quite relaxing. Unfortunately when we went, the caves were not open due to a rock slide. The zip line was open though and I highly recommend checking that out! Christian was a fabulous guide with a lot of knowledge about the area.

A truly amazing experience that is not to be missed. The natural warm Baths felt so amazing. The company I toured with was very accommodating. My Uber never showed up, so they waited until the next one arrived very early in the morning before they left for the destination. And experience, I’ll never forget. Definitely a must go destination.

We absolutely loved our trip, we started by being picked up from the hotel in San Miguel de Allende which was a plus since is our first time there. They included buffet breakfast in a nice little town, the staff was friendly and the food delicious. We did not feel the four hour drive thanks to our expert guide who was telling us all about the history of the place and every little town we passed by on our way there. Christian was so patient with us, provided everything we needed, and made the necessary stops along the way. Once we got there, he took us to the warm pools and gave us enough time to relax in the warm waters overseeing the mountain. Completely out of this world. But the best thing was when we went to the tunnel under the waterfall and the cave deep inside the mountain. I did not see that part in the pictures and even if i did, it doesn't do it justice. Is so much better in person. If it wasn't for Christian that gave us confidence and literally pulled my hand to help us get through the rushing water to go inside the cave, we would have missed this amazing experience. Once inside, the water is coming from all directions but you are no longer holding on to the rope. There were people sitting inside cave relaxing, taking pictures and guards to assist and make sure no one goes to the restricted areas. Christian knows everybody there, he knows all the the best picture spots, where the water is warm and where is cold and every step of the way he was giving us fun facts and information about the place. We could not have been in better hands. The whole team was great, professional, well organized, perfect communications through the process. It was a trip that we will never forget.

We left from San Miguel which is roughly 4 hours each way. The way the tour is set up they make the journey very manageable. Diego our tour guide was amazing! He was attentive to our needs, informative, and easy to talk to. The pools, waterfalls, and caves were breath taking! A must see!

What a unique and beautiful place Las Grutas de Tolantongo are in! This tour was well planned, the facilities were spectacular, and we had experiences we never would have had without a guide. It is a long day with a lot of riding in the car, but it was well worth it. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again, maybe in the dry season next time.

This tour was one of my favorite parts of my whole trip to Mexico. I had read the other reviews about the tour and the guide Diego and I’m happy to confirm they were all true for me too! Diego was amazing and took such good care of us all day. It’s 100% true that getting there and going home is long and bumpy but if you can tolerate that, Tolantongo is absolutely gorgeous and so worth it! Even the amount of time we spent at each of the different parts of the site were just enough, although if I were to do it all again I’d probably try to spend a night or two at the on-site resort to have more time there. My only suggestion for TuroTours would be to include a dinner meal on the way home. It’s definitely a long day that doesn’t need to be extended but even just a 30min stop for a real meal or boxed dinners for the van ride home would be great. The tour includes breakfast, lunch and plenty of snacks, but one last meal at the end of the day would be appreciated. All in all it was a great day and Tolantongo is absolutely magical. I’ve been suggesting this tour to all my friends traveling to Mexico.
