The day begins with a nice breakfast buffet to prepare for the needed energy for the days activities.
After that it will be water activities all day. We start the tour with the warm pools that have been etched onto the mountain side, later proceeding down to the turquoise thermal river for a relaxing lunch along its banks. After lunch, we will jump in to the warm waters of the river before transitioning to the glorious waterfalls and caves. Before entering the caves, we will admire the view of the waterfalls that guard the natural caves we will be exploring. In the caves we will use our lamps to walk through the warm waters extruding from within, explore the interior waterfalls, and observe the origin point of the waters that give Tolantongo it's name. Tolantongo, meaning "place of warm moving water," will prove to give you an experience in Mexico unlike any other. (River and cave exploration are contingent on good weather in days prior to allow for an optimal experience).

4 of us took the tour from San Miguel to Tolantongo at the end of January 2926z Christian was our driver and tour guide. From the minute he picked us up, we had a wonderful time. He was kind, informative, patient and his English was very good. It was worth the money and the time. The pools, caves and river were so beautiful. They looked like they’d been photoshopped. Thank you Christian for making our day and happy memories.

Our guide was fabulous. We ended up with a private tour (lucky) and spent the day in a Kia Sedona which was very comfortable. Diego did an amazing job spoiling us, telling us about Mexico as well as explaining the locations we stopped. We loved the day because the experience was so unique. I was surprised though by how commercialized the area was. Based on photos, it appeared to be more restricted on number of guests. It actually is like the local water park but was still worth the time and money. Also of note, the water is not hot like a normal sulfur hot springs, nor does it smell. Its really like bath water. Lunch was good. Breakfast was okay. Buffet is at a local hotel and was pretty cold but lots of variety.

The location is just beautiful! Clean and well maintained. Our driver was courteous and careful. Christian, our tour guide was great! He was fun, friendly and knowledgeable. My only complaint, provide better shock absorbers on you vehicle.

Christian was a fantastic tour guide. The experience was beyond our expectations. We had such a wonderful time at Tolantongo hot springs. It was a beautiful day and the environment couldn't be more beautiful. Christian was kind and had a wealth of knowledge about the area and the history of Mexico. The van was comfortable and both meals were excellent. Highly recommend this tour and Christian as your tour guide.

The visit to Tolantongo is a great experience! The place is a paradise, with amazing views of the Sierra Madre, great vegetation and fantastic natural springs that form the Tolantongo River. The trip from San Miguel de Allende is very long, but the worse part is the traffic in Queretaro. The guide of Turo Tours was punctual, polite and good fun. He did his best to keep us safe and well equipped to visit the pools and cave. The reason I give 4 stars is because the catering could have been much better. We made similar trips/tours in Chile and Europe and it was better provided. It would be nice if the company would make an effort to provide more fruit and a better meal, considering that we left at 5:30 am and didn’t return until past 9pm. The other point is that we were not informed about the length of the trip or the return time (approx). Only after several times asking, they responded. That info should be in the description of the trip. All in all, good vehicle, good guide, fantastic place visit, but prepare more.
