Lots of interesting info-not just about the gannets, but also about the history of the area, and the surrounding fauna and flora.

We went on the morning tour on April 11, towards the end of the season. Although we were warned that the number of Gannets would be small, we were delighted to find hundreds of birds at the colony. We were very lucky to see a parent feeding a young gannet, displaying behavior that was worthy of nature shows. Our driver/guide, Marcus, was a great storyteller who provided a wealth of information on Cape Kidnappers and the gannets. The drive to the cape was enjoyable and the view was gorgeous. It's a highlight of our trip to New Zealand.

Well worth a visit, not just for Gannets but also for scenery and stories by our guide. A large number of the Gannets had already raised their young and returned to their ocean life style but we also saw 2 Brown Skua, Skylarks and rare Brown Teal. The weather was amazing too!

It was amazing to see these birds up close and the scenery was astounding. The transport was comfortable and they changed our booking on short notice.

Well worth the 3 hour journey there and back to Cape Kidnappers. The destination, the Gannet colonies out on the Cape, was breathtaking and enlightening but the journey there and back was itself a major part of the experience. This trip was highlight of our 4 days in Hawkes Bay. Just do it.
