This delicious tour takes you on a 2 to 2.5 hour journey through Ghent whilst you pamper your taste buds and let your endorphins have a party. Combine a walking tour with yummy chocolate related tastings without feeling guilty!

Our Ghent Chocolate Tour starts at the Jacob Van Artevelde statue in the middle of Vrijdagmarkt, where your guide will welcome you and give a brief introduction. From there, you will go and explore the city center and make stops at Korenlei, the three Ghent medieval towers, Graslei and of course the famous Graffiti Street. Learn about the connection between a famous chocolate and the World Expo, hear the story about two Greek brothers, their passion for this aphrodisiac and how one of them became world-famous.

You will make 5 to 6 stops and your tastings are all very different from one another as each place has its speciality. You also get discounts with some partners as part of the tour, should you wish to purchase any chocolates to take home.

Ghent

This tour will give you a good overview of the city of Ghent whilst you sample your way through the different chocolate tasters. It is the perfect combo. You start at Vrijdagmarkt and make several stops to take photos, learn more about and admire the 3 medieval towers (Saint Nicholas Church, Saint Bavo Cathedral, the Ghent Belfry), Saint Michael's Church (Sint-Michielskerk), the famous quays of Graslei and Korenlei, Graffiti Street and the many squares of Ghent. This is however just a snapshot. We do vary our tours and therefore they are always different. But you will have had a full sightseeing tour with all the famous landmarks included.

Super nice guide who could tell nice stories about the city. We had a private tour because there were no other bookings. Tasted delicious chocolate (products) but actually it is too much chocolate for 1 afternoon. All in all highly recommended!

So much fun and we are not beer drinkers. Tiago was fantastic. Great walking tour even in the rain. He explained different chocolate symbols on windows so we knew who won awards when we wanted to purchase chocolate. We each got a bag of chocolate to taste with the beer, then French fries and different mayo tastes, and finally four different beers to samples. A very enjoyable tour and definitely recommend it.

  • Very nice tour with nice and competent guide.

We were a small group of two families. Our guide was very nice and competent. She responded very well to us and brought us the history of Ghent in an interesting way. Chocolates and chocolate were full and the quality was excellent. Also not so crowded places in Ghent were shown to us A really great experience. Tour and guide are highly recommended

  • A must-do in Belgium for chocolate lovers!

We had the best time with our tour guide Sophie! The meeting point was very clear and we found her right away. We very much enjoyed the walking tour sprinkled with interesting facts about Ghent as well as the history of Belgium. It was very informative and she went out of her way to answer all our questions. And of course the chocolate was delicious! For me personally, it was a little too much. At each stop, there were about three pieces of chocolates so in all about 10 chocolates plus a chocolate waffle and a large hot chocolate. Everything was so amazing but I think providing a to go box would have made the experience a lot more enjoyable. When in Belgium you must try the amazing chocolate and trying it with a guide to explain each unique piece and the history behind each store made it so much better!! I would recommend it.
