Sushi is famously bite-sized, but that doesn’t mean it necessarily has to be. While in Tokyo, discover the art of massive sushi-making with local hosts. First, you’ll learn to prepare the fish and avocado fillings, as well as the nori (seaweed). Your hosts will also explain what makes sushi rice so unique. With the chef and other participants, you’ll lay out your nori sheets, carefully place your sushi rice and fillings, and finish with a sprinkling of sesame seeds. Together, you will roll the 1.5m long sushi creation with just the right amount of pressure to form the iconic log shape. Once ready, the roll will be cut and served on beautiful Japanese dishware crafted and painted all by hand. Each plate is a unique piece designed by local artists and available to purchase at the onsite shop at the end of the class. By the end of this sushi experience, you’ll walk away with more than just a satisfied appetite but also a ton of new sushi knowledge to recreate this gigantic maki roll back home.

Had absolutely beautiful time in sushi making class. Cafe is near the station, around 10 minutes walk. We had some Japanese snacks and chitchat , also enjoyed the fun from Japanese social games. It seems like a new cafe , but the service and experience is top notch. There is a famous walking street nearby you can take a nicely walk around and buy some nice second hand stuff after the cooking session! I would recommend the class more for the commercial area they are sitting in!

It was first time for me to make sushi roll , but staffs were so kind and I could make the good sushi rolls. Also, it was well organized. Although I went to this event alone , I could have some international friends. Thank you for the precious time.

10/10 Would recommend!! We had so much fun with Nao, Rei, and Daiji. This is an incredible deal for a cooking class in a lovely setting everything was delicious and the pottery we used were all so beautiful. They hit the perfect blend of Japanese tradition and modern style. It’s a great experience for everyone from visitors to foreigners living in Japan. The team was so friendly and held the class in English. My husband and I got to practice some Japanese with them too. We made cold udon noodles with a lovely seasonal spread of veggies and pork belly. It was perfect and refreshing since it’s been so hot here in the summer. For dessert we made dorayaki, a traditional pancake sandwich with red bean and whipped cream. They even had a cute branding stamp for the dorayaki! We will definitely be using the recipe which we received copies of in both English and Japanese. We’re looking forward to attending another class as they may change up the menu to reflect whatever tastes best for the season.

Daiji, Nao, and Rei were very friendly and professional. They prepared everything very well, explained each step of the recipe clearly, and encouraged my wife and I as we were taking part. I recommend their company and their service to anyone who is interested in learning about Japanese cuisine and Japanese pottery. You will not regret it!
