2.00Giethoorn is a very quaint village that is overrun by far too many tourists. The crowds on the footpaths, in the restaurants, and especially in the canals where it was bow to stern boat traffic was particularly disappointing. To add insult to injury, the tour company, Cherry Tours, committed the unforgivable blunder of designating their meeting/pickup spot exactly where five thousand runners were marshaling for a marathon. The one bright spot was a tour guide, Amy, who was knowledgeable, friendly and informative.Giethoorn is a lovely village until the tourist invaders show up.

1.00We paid for a full day tour to go to Geithoorn we also paid extra for a small group We confirmed the week before we are going on the full tour and two people will attend Only hours before the tour the operator called us and cancelled the trip. Instead she put us on a much larger bus with more people and we only spent half a day in Geithoorn not a full day. She took us to the windmills for half a day instead even though we told her we already went to the windmills the day before she did not care. We have just arrived in our country after travelling Europe for two months no other operator in Europe treated us like this. It is the only this company that treated us terribly so she could make maximum profit. Rather than apologizing for the terrible was she treated us as our tour was ruined and rushed and we had to go to the windmills twice in two days in a row. Rather than apologizing she writes false stories to cover what se did Terrible tour operator
