Very good guide and very pretty village. No wonder they got voted top xxx village in Europe. Not enough time to wander too far though after the boat ride pity.

Excellent tour! Ibrahim is an excellent guide full of knowledge regarding Netherlands which clearly explained to all of us. It's very clear he loves his job as a tour guide! Giethoorn is a beautiful town! The canals, the cottages, and flowers give the town a peaceful and romantic vibe! I highly recommend visiting Giethoorn!

This was an excellent trip, the tour guide was extremely polite and knowledgable and told us all about the culture and history of the area. When we arrived we took a long boat ride through the village which is only accessible via boat. Lots of bridges, beautiful homes and luxurious landscaping. There were several options for us to get some lunch and free time to walk around and explore before going back to the city.

Overall loved the trip. Jay, our guide was very knowledgeable, engaging and funny, and it was probably the right amount of time at Giethorn (about 3-4 hours including a 1 hour canal cruise). Overall a nice day trip. I would have given a five star review but the tour company made an arbitrary, last minute change to the pickup point from a nearby hotel that was a 3 minute walk to another that was significantly farther away with no transit options other than walking. I have a painful arthritic hip so the added distance causes pain and discomfort that I was trying to mitigate by selecting a tour that started nearby. While on the bus I found out that a vanful of passengers been picked up at the original hotel but the tour company bumped us and made us walk because they didn’t want to send another van. Obviously they value logistics over hospitality…

Absolutely brilliant, our guide, Ibrahim and our bus driver, Marloes were amazing. They were fun, kind and really enhanced our day. It would be better in spring but we wouldn’t have missed this trip & we would really recommend it.

Would highly suggest to Dutch Tours to scrap the process of picking up Amsterdam guests from a hotel by van to where the bus would be. We felt as if we might be getting kidnapped as the communication was pretty poor. Once onboard the bus with the actual tour guide, all went a lot better and we could relax. The guide made the ride their fly by and even with the rain (and chill) we enjoyed our free time walking the village. The boat ride was OK as we got some info from the local captain but honestly liked walking around more. Enjoyed a lunch, drink, and dessert at various establishments. Also liked the tour guide stopping the bus at a produce market. The bus drops you off somewhat near the train station. Continuity is preferable to this traveler and without a mobile app providing directions would have been a problem.

Our visit to Giethoorn, often called the “Dutch Venice”, was such a memorable experience. This charming little village, with its peaceful canals and beautiful thatched-roof houses, is truly one of the most picturesque places in the Netherlands. It’s hard to believe there are 176 bridges connecting the different parts of the village—it makes every corner feel magical. We were lucky to have Rashid as our driver from Amsterdam. He was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and gave us great insights about Dutch culture and history along the way, which made the journey feel just as enjoyable as the destination. Our tour included a boat ride through the canals, which was lovely and relaxing. While the scenery was beautiful, the boat driver wasn’t much of a guide, so we didn’t get as much storytelling about the village as we had hoped. Even so, drifting through the waterways and soaking in the views was still a highlight. Afterward, we enjoyed a late lunch and drinks at ’t Achterhuus. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was cozy, and the service was very good, making it the perfect spot to wind down after exploring the canals. Overall, it was a wonderful day trip. The beauty of Giethoorn speaks for itself, and with Rashid’s excellent driving and guidance, it was an experience we won’t forget.

Memorable tour; Jake, our guide was fabulous and Tom, the driver too - smooth driving. The one hour forty five minutes drive from Amsterdam to Giethoorn felt shorter thanks to Jake’s interesting conversations and anecdotes; And Giethoorn is a slice of heaven

Striking contrast to the dense city landscape like Amsterdam and Rotterdam. Charming little village full of beautiful houses and their gardens, surrounded by little canals. Distinctive from other canal-based places like Venice and Bruges.
