Amersham, Buckinghamshire is as steeped in history as it is tales of the paranormal. Some of this significant history has left a mark that many people still witness to this day.
In the early 1500s The Amersham Martyrs, known as Lollards, were imprisoned, tried and executed in a brutal manner.
There are reports in varied establishments of chambermaids & bar wenches getting a bit "hands on."
Amersham residents were particularly fearful of witchcraft. Join us as we the explore the horrible history, hauntings, local legends and recent encounters of the unexplained. We will visit the locations of apparitions, disembodied voices and screams, poltergeist activity, and people being touched by unseen hands.
Since the first tour in 2015, locals and visitors continue to have experiences. This is an ever evolving tour!

St Mary's Church
Central to the old town centre. A site significant to the fate of the Amersham Lollards, a group of religious dissidents in the late middle ages. Also, the final resting place of the last woman to be executed in the UK. But, was the case as cut and dried as first believed?
Home to yet more haunted current and former hostelries where we will soak up the ambience of a pub largely unchanged for centuries. People in these buildings witness paranormal activity to this very day.

We had a great time! Ash is a very engaging and knowledgeable host, drawing from his own experiences; as well as stories from residents, all while connecting the dots with national and local history. Whether you’re a believer, sceptical or just curious, I’d recommend this tour to anyone.

Very knowledgeable, fun tour. Ash was full of fun facts and had a wealth of local Knowledge. A visit to the Saracen’s head half way round the tour allowed for some refreshment

It was a very cold and windy night when we did the tour, but Ash’s knowledge and humor kept us going. It was a very interesting tour and Ash clearly knows his stuff. The stop at the Saracen’s Head was most welcome part way through, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

Disappointingly few ghosts. I mean you could choose any town and tell some tall stories. Not very convincing but then ghosts don’t actually exist, right?

It was a very interesting tour of Amersham. I personally am very dubious about ghosts etc, but the tour was fun and interesting, and Ash was very personable. I went with someone from the local area and she said that she didn't know many of the things mentioned on the tour. It was a very cold night, but nevertheless was enjoyable and would recommend to others.
