ONIGIRI is a Japanese food that has a longer history than sushi. Why not try holding freshly harvested rice in your hands while it is still hot? Children will be welcomed. There is an area with toys for kids to play with. There are two different flavors. If you have any allergies, please let us know in advance. △Tuna mayonnaise ▲Shrimp tempura If you would like to try ▲Fresh Egg yolk (can be placed on rice balls using a special cooking method) Ask them when you make the reservation. Vegetarian and vegan menus are currently being prepared. Ask us if you would like to order them, please. We also make miso soup, with a chawan bowl. If you have a cafe au lait bowl at home, we will share recipes that you can make even when you return to your home country. Enjoy rice balls and miso soup, be thankful for the blessings of everyday life, and spend some peaceful time here in Hiroshima with mothers (who also speak English and have lived overseas). For dessert, try making matcha tea. Please enjoy matcha you made with Japanese sweets (Wagashi). Let's learn the manners of the tea ceremony (SADOU) together and become more Japanese than Japanese. <(_ _)>bow No alcohol served.

Absolutely amazing experience. Their English was excellent which allowed for an even better experience with making onigiri, and learning its history. Loved every moment while talking to one of the locals. Highly recommend for any travelers who love Japanese food.

What a special morning of learning, not only about how to make onigiri, but also useful Japanese phrases, history, culture. We also made miso soup, matcha and maki sushi, and tried sweet potato treats, and left very full! All in a warm and friendly home environment, with plenty of laughter and smiles. Highly recommend!

Loved the home based cooking experience. Midori and Uiko made us very welcome in their home and introduced us to the culture and cuisine of Japan. Fabulous food and a fun, friendly once in a lifetime experience (Ichi-go, ichi-e as we learnt). Would highly recommend this class.

The host had a great communication all of the time and provided really good explanations. It’s not “just to make onigiri” but have a bit of history and lots of fun. We enjoyed the experience and the food.

My wife and I had a fantastic time. I’d done something similar before, but this one was far more informative—and way more fun! Midori and Uiko made us feel comfortable right away, and there was plenty of laughter and great conversation throughout. I requested to make norimaki instead of onigiri, and they happily accommodated—it felt like cooking with old friends. A truly memorable experience and a beautiful way to connect with the kind of genuine local culture that many Japanese people grow up with, but I’d never had the chance to experience myself.

I had so much fun making onigiri with Uiko and Midori! I was so grateful that they were able to accommodate my food limitations (vegan/gluten free), while still making sure everything was delicious. They were both so kind and fun to be around, and I learned a lot. I am excited to try making onigiri and miso soup at home :-)

This was an amazing experience! Midori picked us up from our hotel and took us to Weiko's lovely home (then dropped us back at the end!). Our two hosts were incredible, spoke excellent English and had set up a play area for our two young kids to play. We got to make 3 kinds of onigiri, miso soup, participate in a tea ceremony and shared Japanese sweets for dessert. They explained Japanese traditions and culture for us and were so friendly and helpful. They also provided us with chopstick holders that had our names in kanji on them. The food was absolutely delicious and the whole experience was just delightful. This was the highlight of our whole Japan trip! I highly recommend Onigiri Hiroshima! 🍙🍡
