Tynwald Hill
Travelling towards the centre of the island via the famous TT course, we will make our first stop at St. Johns to visit Tynwald Hill. Tynwald is believed to have been established by Norse Viking settlers over a thousand years ago making it the oldest continuous parliament in the world. The hill is now one of the Island’s most Iconic landmarks symbolising Isle of Man’s independence as a self-governing crown dependency. There is a wealth of history to explore in this area including the Royal Chapel, a Giant’s grave, Ballaharra Neolithic Stones and Bunscoill Ghaelgagh our Manx Language Primary School.
Peel
Heading towards the west, we’ll venture to Peel; also known as sunset city, with its stunning backdrop of the ancient Castle, fishing harbour and sandy bay. We can wander through the quaint streets with their tiny fishing cottages or take in the fresh sea air along the promenade with an ice cream or around the castle, keeping a look out for the Atlantic grey seals or our resident bottlenose dolphins, Moonlight and Starlight.

We chose this tour because we wanted to see the southern part of the Isle of Man. Louise was phenomenal! She blended just enough history and folklore together to make the tour educational and extremely enjoyable. At the end of the tour, I felt like we had known Louise for a good while! Highly recommend her!

Louise was enthusiastic, friendly, and well-versed in her knowledge of Manx history. But additionally, she was also an expert in the nature and wildlife of the island. Her well-rounded tour gave me a great insight into the country and I only wish I had another day here to take the northern tour. I would highly recommend!

Louise provided an absolutely fantastic tour. She picked us up at the dock, and took us to all the sites we'd wanted to see. She is a very knowledgeable guide who is passionate about her home island. We toured the southern half of the island as the TT races were happening in the north. Louise is an excellent driver and was always attentive to our safety. We learned a lot about both the history of and present-day life on the Isle of Man. The four of us all agree that you couldn't find a better guide than Louise.

Louise was better than expected by miles. It's like getting a tour from family. Did the 1/2 day Southern IOM Tour. Louise surpassed all expectations. It was simply like seeing a very dear old friend. Words can't justify the enjoyment of the day. Went to Peel Castle, Cregneash, Calf Of Man, Tynwald and road part of the TT course. Louise knowledge and ability to share, made the day simply amazing. What else can I say! Book it, YOU WILL NOT be disappointed.

We knew nothing about Isle of Man but we chose to visit this magical island because it was very close to our location shoot. We placed our trust with Louise and told her it was up to her where she would take us for half a day on our short break. Louise made sure we squeezed in all the interesting places and spots around the island. Louise was friendly, helpful and choc-full-of amazing information and facts about the Manx, its people, culture and history! Our drive around the island was fun and exciting, there was never a dull moment! We even tried Queenies during our tour which instantly became a favorite snack. We highly recommend Louise to families, couples or friends visiting the Isle of Man for the first time. We are definitely coming back for more of the island’s peaceful sites and breathtaking landscapes, of course with our favorite sweet guide, Louise! Brava and THANK YOU Louise

During a travel on a cruise ship, we have a stopover on the isle of Man. We liked the description of the "Discovery Half Day Tour". Louise was a very good Guide. She gave us a lot of explainations about the island and its inhabitants. Isle of Man is a beautifull place. I recommend Louise to visit the island. Just a detail for french people: it's better to have some notion of the english langage. During a cruise we stopped on the Isle of Man.
