Small Groups! Explore the gorgeous beaches, islands and wildlife sanctuaries around Kailua Bay by kayak with your choice of a guided or self-guided tour. You can paddle to the Mokulua Islands or Popoia Island (Flat Island) to see bird sanctuaries, snorkel with green sea turtles at Lanikai Beach and enjoy incredible views from the water. Have time to relax on the beach and swim in the ocean as you discover the natural treasures of Oahu during this day in paradise. All kayak and snorkel equipment, lunch and free parking are included on this small-group tour.

Children 15 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult in a double (tandem) kayak

The weight limit for a single-person kayak is 280lbs (127kg) and a double (tandem) kayak is 400lbs (181kg)

Check in is 15 minutes before the tour time.

Customers must be able to transport kayaks to the beach (15 min) on a cart and drag over the sand. They weigh 70lbs.

All guests must be able to swim. Life Jackets are provided.

HOURS: 8-5PM EVERYDAY - will need to return rentals by 5pm

What To Expect

Kailua

If you Selected Hotel Pick Up and confirmed your pickup time and location, wait for you name to be called at the specified time. If you are driving, park in our lot for free (Kailua Beach Adventures). Meet your guide (If option selected) or your briefing staff for orientation. We will explain the routes and conditions. We have a full retail store and offer 15% off to Viator guests if you need Reef Safe Sunscreen, UV Shirts or souvenirs. Everyone is assigned a locker to store valuables while on the water. Get outfitted with your life jacket, snorkel gear, dry bag and kayaks. Then head out to the beach to start your kayaking adventure! We are located within a 5 min walk of Kailua Beach Park. Your adventure starts and finishes here. We have been in business since 1982, providing sustainable eco-tours in once of the most stunning bays in the world. Kailua Beach Adventures has been recognized three times for having the Eco Tour Guide of the Year for the State of Hawaii.

Great day on the water with Justin. We took a 2 hour excursion to Popo'ia in kayaks and had a blast! Justin was full of great info about the area, wildlife, and history of the islands. They even included lunch! 10/10 would recommend.

We booked last minute the morning of our excursion. The KBA sent a link to a video and waivers ahead of time and we really appreciate that. Instructions were clear and most importantly, visual! Getting to the shop was easy as we are staying right down the road at Bellows AFS. The wind was an issue so we opted for a tandem kayak. We did not pick up lunch until after we came back from our time on the boat because we didn’t want to deal with it and we weren’t hungry yet. My husband had zero issues finding parking. Getting the kayak to the water was a breeze. There were KBA team members on site to help us launch and unload the kayak. We chose to kayak to flat island first. We enjoyed walking around the island and seeing many small blowholes and nesting birds. The vegetation on the island is beautiful as well. We then headed to the beach to do a bit of snorkeling. We were out for around two and a half hours before heading back. We chose K and K for lunch. I got BBQ chicken, Mac salad and rice with a can of Dr. Pepper. My husband chose Katsu chicken with the same accompaniment. We sat outside and ate the very generous meal. It was delicious!! Very fun day. Steering the kayak in rough water was a big challenge for me and today, the day after our excursion, I thought I would be in agony but I felt fine. Thank God for my husband and his physical health or I would probably have given up.

Had such an amazing experience with Kailua Beach Adventures! The staff was incredibly kind, helpful, and made everything so easy from start to finish. We rented kayaks and spent the day exploring the water — it was absolutely beautiful and one of the highlights of our trip. The gear was in great condition, the location is perfect, and the whole process was seamless. Highly recommend them if you’re looking for a fun, easy, and unforgettable beach day in Kailua!

I had never kayaked before but I’m in good shape so I wanted to give this tour a try! Other than the severe seasickness I had at the end, I loved every minute. Our guide, Isaac, was kind, calm, courteous, and informative. We saw a resting monk seal and several sea turtles. I highly recommend this tour (with a dose of Dramamine).

Definitely recommend with family or even by yourself! Great views and you can take your time and not feel rushed. And you get to snorkel, so thats a plus.
