The tour entails a 2-hour hike involving hiking, climbing, and swimming to reach a hidden waterfall nestled in the canyons formed by the lava of the Rincon De La Vieja volcano. The route traverses rocks and rivers with inclines and declines, making it unsuitable for individuals with knee, ankle, or leg issues. For those without mobility problems, including individuals in their 60s or 70s, the activity is relatively easy. Closed shoes are recommended for the hike. Exercise caution with water shoes, as some may have thin soles, potentially causing discomfort towards the end of the excursion. After the hike, we will enjoy an amazing local lunch in the center of Liberia. It’s important to remark that lunch is not included.

This was the best experience ever. So worth it! This was one of the most beautiful hikes and the water looked great. There was a nature waterslide and the water was so clear and clean. Our guides were amazing!

Amazing trip! Our guide, Jefferson took us on many “adventures” throughout our hike. We saw caves, bats, various trees and plant on the hike to the water. When you get to the water expect the adventure to begin. You swim to the falls and what an amazing site. On the way back we saw another fall and jumped from platforms into the river. It was challenging but so worth it and so much fun. We were a group of five women and all made it through! I highly recommend this trip!

A party of two of us did a guided tour to the La Leona waterfall led by Cholo, who was exceptional! The tour lasted about an hour and a half and covered roughly two miles. We went on a Sunday, and there were more people on the trail than we expected, but the various guides and groups were all courteous and clearly enjoying the day. One thing to note is to pay attention to the limitations and guidance provided by the operators. If you are not very mobile, this may not be the trip for you; there is a bit of current to fight upstream to swim into the area where the waterfalls can be seen. This guide service was fantastic and provided a great overall experience. A must-do if you have the time!

This was a great half day trip. My husband and I did not want to spend an entire day off resort since we were on a short trip. Our driver was amazing. We had a private car that picked us up right at the resort. He took us for coffee and food on the way in the morning. Nacho (Ignacio) was a fantastic tour for the waterfall. We were there early so it wasn't too crowded. It was also nice to be in a group of 6. Highly recommend.

Transportation was on time and friendly. The falls were a must see, photos do not do its beauty justice! The hike was intermediate but very do-able

Truly a lovely nature filled morning- no rush no pressure… Hike at your own pace absorb the beautiful jungle… the scrambles are exciting but not dangerous… as are the river crossings and hand over hand rope climb up to the waterfall. Just magic!

Tour was great, Anthony took great car of us and made sure we had everything we needed. Went out of his way to make sure our daughter was comfortable and even made a special trip to some beaches along the way home. When passed off to the tour guide for the hike we felt comfortable. Small group of just another couple was with us. Guide kept a good pace, made sure everyone was safe and shared helpful tips along the way. This was my second time doing the hike and it was much different just coming out of rainy season, much more intense but great for a family with adventurous kids!

Our hotel was outside the pick-up area, but the driver picked us up directly from the hotel, which was very appreciative. We then made about two hours drive to reach the waterfall. On site, the guides were very friendly and the groups were small. The water was quite cold and you have to climb on rocks; there is even a small canyoning side to access the waterfall, which is really beautiful. This activity was great, we had a lot of fun. I highly recommend this experience.
