Melbourne is a mecca for food with an eating culture bordering on the obsessive. But many of these best places are hidden from first sight in laneways and behind doors. This 3 hour small group walking tour lets you experience the best examples of what Melbourne offers. This tour offers the best aspects of Melbourne with the insight of your local guide that you cannot get from a guide book. Drink coffee, eat dumplings, sneak in a sweet treat and finish it off with a drink in a laneway bar the locals love – all included in your ticket price. See all the treasures of Melbourne and often it is said “wow – you wouldn’t even know this was here!” Do this on your first day in Melbourne and you’ll discover a whole lot more places to return to later in your stay!

Rita is just amazing! She takes you on a journey of some of Melbourne’s best foods while providing a historical overview! We saw great architecture and learned about how the buildings and food stops fit into the history of Melbourne! We had such good food and the tour group was so congenital and fun. I recommend doing this tour early in your visit so you can go back to some of the great places!

A really enjoyable experience. Our guide Andrew has a great knowledge of Melbourne history in addition to taking us to various points of interest and this is all in addition to the food sampling we did along the way.

This was our first walking food tour and it has wetted our appetite for more. Rob was an excellent guide and not only provided background about each of the establishments we visited but also provided interesting history about the location. Wonderful way to explore a city and visit many parts you previously could have ignored.

Good thing to do after arriving Melbourne while waiting for your hotel room to be ready. Tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Food was good and nice variety. Guide pointed out where one can go to try kangaroo and other Australian foods.

More than a walking food tour, Dave, our guide (not his brother) shared much about the making of Melbourne, which I bet even the locals don't know about! Laneways, under arches, doing the block and gold fever plus a melting-pot of foods, Dave's knowledge led us to all the good stuff. But crickey, Dave, let's settle this pavlova debacle; NZ has the first recorded recipe in 1927, whereas Australia lagged to 1935! Anyway, I digress - we had lots of fun and highly recommend the tour; it's a great way to meander the city lanes, and find your way back to the places you want to try again! Thanks Dave! Fantastic experience! Will be doing more. This experience shaped the rest of my trip, it was essential to having a great city break. I learnt about the city, its streets, lanes & alleys & of course the best places to eat and drink. Our guide (Chev) was so incredibly helpful with tips & advice & her knowledge was amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Melbourne.
