This is an all-day tour of the east coast of Oahu starting at 7:00 a.m. from Honolulu looping around to the Dole Plantation (last stop) and back to Honolulu at 6:00 p.m. Do the math. They promote water and coffee provided to you but it is one serving per person for the whole day and the coffee was iced in cans. The driver Cap was friendly and informative throughout the day. We stopped at several lovely beaches and lookout sites. Although the tour is billed as “Not your gift shop tour” the fruit stands and macadamia nut plantation stops were wildly overpriced, i.e. $7 for a small plastic bag of sliced mango, $8 for a small plastic bag of sliced sugar cane. The Dole plantation gift shop was a zoo of shoppers. It’s all designed to give you multiple reasons to spend your cash. The train ride was interesting but the pineapple fields are flat and not so. We bought a ripe pineapple—the flavor was amazing. If you want to go snorkeling at the resort along the way, be sure to bring your own swim fins as the tour does not provide them. Swim fins are highly recommended due to the rip currents there. You can rent fins there for $20 for 2 hours. All in all an enjoyable tour. Glad it was over.

The bus we rode was so loud and our window was squeaking the whole time. Although we made a lot of stop, the snorkeling part was disappointing as we are only given an hour that includes changing to swim gear and getting change to fresh clothes after. By the time we get settled and ready to swim there was 30 mins left to swim, but in the 30 mins includes the time to change into dry clothes.. There was a long line at the dressing room, so we don’t have time to change and our time was up. We paid $45 to rent the beach chair and umbrella to be able to sit for 15mins. We got up to our bus wearing damp clothes.

Nobody got off the bus and helped you with anything. There was only commentary along the tour bus wouldn’t recommend the guy just stays in the bus all day doesn’t help you snorkeling or anything was the biggest waste of money in my entire life.

Kap was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the island, its history and stopped at a lot of great places. Some of the stops were very quick. The lunch stop was great and a lot of food truck options. We would definitely go again.

Learning about the history and viewing all the areas of the island was fun. Disappointed with the snorkeling. Dole plantation was worth the whole trip. The driver was very informative and made it somewhat fun. Though the cost of the excursion was too much for just drinks and multiple sweet shops.
