Blue Dolphin Diving Center in Elounda is the ONLY organization offering organized snorkeling trips to the sunken city of Olous for more than 5 years. We made a huge research about the history and the remains of the city, which will be presented to you with a Power Point presentation at the beginning of the program. Our snorkeling trips are guided by professional snorkel guides who also can teach about different snorkeling technics. There is no better way in exploring the sunken city of Olous!

What To Expect
Come and explore the submarine remains of Olous, one of the most important cities of the Minoan History. 50 to 80 cm under water, discover a site rich in history and not accessible to scuba divers. Enjoy a snorkelling trip in all safety and quietude to admire the ruins of a great civilization. 3.00Dimitri was a great guide. The dive shop provided good equipment. He had to manage a couple who were not comfortable snorkelling and left early and our family who were quite comfortable in the water. Dimitri was calm and well informed. The snorkel site itself was not that impressive as described. It is amazing to think of a five thousand year old city under the water now but not much remains that’s visible. You must use your imagination quite a bit. The location is beautiful. We had lunch at Kanali afterward which was on the water and delicious.

4.00We had a lovely morning snorkelling over Olous. Our guide was super friendly and patient. She checked in regularly to make sure we were comfortable with our masks and the pace we were swimming.

5.00Very nice contact and atmosphere. First there was an interesting historical introduction about the ruins, then trying on the masks, wetsuits and snorkeling. The snorkeling itself was super relaxed and the guide very helpful and patient, especially for beginners. There were only four of us. The ruins themselves consist mainly of the old road and a few buildings, but still very interesting. Recommended and the price is also OK.

5.00I’m not a swimmer at all and this was way easier than I expected it to be. I actually found out I’m not a big fan of snorkeling lol but am thankful for the experience and the instructors were great. I booked it more for my husband and he loved it all.
