These recipes have been transmitted generation after generation. I learned them from my mother and they will be handed to you. I will explain to you on what occasions we normally cook them, what are the secrets for the best taste and stories behind these dishes.

You will learn how to cook Costa Rica traditional food: - Empanadas - Arroz con Pollo (perfumed rice with chicken) - Tortillas con Queso (handmade tortillas with local cheese) - Picadillo de Papa (potatoes in chunks with ground beef) *I will send you the list of ingredients so you can be prepared for the class and a Zoom meeting link. You will need the basic equipment you can find in a kitchen. This is the Online version of my onsite experience "Cooking Costa Rica Homemade Food" which I host at my house in Huacas, Costa Rica. These recipes have been transmitted generation after generation. I learned them from my mother and they will be handed to you. I will explain to you on what occasions we normally cook them, what are the secrets for the best taste and stories behind these dishes. Making tortillas and empanadas are perfect activities for children, they love playing with corn dough, I do that with my little grandson Samuel when he visits me. The cooking class starts at 11 am CST or 3 pm CST on a Zoom meeting, it lasts max 2 hours (varies depending on the number of online guests and their skills in the kitchen). You will have quality bonding time and learn about our culture.

I’m so glad I took this cooking lesson. Our host was a delight, she was pleasant and patient and she moved at our pace. I also loved that the class was personal and it only included our group. Overall it was a memorable experience and it better than expected. I expected to get a cooking lesson and I got that and more. We received history and insight into the culture as well. And the food was tasty as well !

Excellent experience with Lady cooking homemade Costa Rican dishes!! It was a great thing to do during Covid-19, or anytime! Lady is very good at leading you through the online cooking class. She is very kind, helpful & patient. I would highly recommend doing this class. The food was delicious, & I wouldn’t have been able to do it without Lady’s help!!

Lady welcomes you onto her home where you feel like family and shows you how to wait create about 5 different traditional recipes. We left with enough food for 11 people who enjoyed it all. Very personable. Well worth the value

Lady invited us into her home with a great big hug and gave us the chance to experience real Costa Rican cooking. Very hands on, lots of wonderful explanation and stories. The dishes all tasted great. Our only mistake, it was the last day of vacation and we had a huge pile of food to take with us at the end. We should have gone on day one of our trip, we would have had enough food to last a couples of days!
