Meet with our licensed Tour Guide at 08:20am and depart immediately for Delphi archaeological site with our air-conditioned coach. The drive will last approximately 3 hours with a small stop of 25 minutes at a local cafe for a rest-break.
Delphi was the cultural and religious heart of the Hellenic world. Set in a stunning landscape, once considered the center of the world, where, according to mythology, two eagles sent by Zeus to find the navel of the world, met. The site, once sacred to Mother Earth and guarded by the serpent Python, later became Apollo’s sanctuary, built by Cretans arriving at Kirrha (the port of Delphi) accompanied by the god in the form of a dolphin. Such myths were celebrated in the Delphic festivals, like the Pythia and the Delphinia, with music and athletic competitions. Explore unique monuments such as the Treasury of the Athenians, the Temple of Apollo, the Athenian Stoa, and the Polygonal Wall with our expert guide, ensuring you don’t miss a thing.

An absolutely wonderful tour! Our tour guide was friendly and informative, never missing a chance to tell us interesting tidbits of information about the history of Greece and its language. I would 100% recommend this tour for anyone that’s a fan of history or simply wants to see some beautiful archaeological sites. Delphi is absolutely stunning!

Our tour guide Dionysis was phenomenal in his knowledge and storytelling. He also always had an answer ready for any question. And his tips about how to beat the crowds were invaluable! Despite the rain, wind and fog, the tour was definitely worth it. The schedule was not too tight and left room for a bit of exploration at our own pace. The optional groul lunch was very tasty and it surprisingly had some options for different dietary needs. The drive in the coach was also pretty comfortable and relaxing and the team made sure to include little breaks!

Iris was an excellent guide - super friendly, patient and knowledgeable! Everything was smooth from start to finish. It was easy to find the meeting spot and get on the coach which was very clean and comfortable. There was a service stop along the way. At the archaeological museum, Iris walked us around and gave us context for pretty much everything we saw! Delphi was stunning. Photos really don't do it justice. It is a bit of a steep walk if you want to go right to the top and see the stadium, otherwise it's fine! I paid extra for the lunch at the nearby Arachova village which was absolutely delicious. Had a little bit of time to walk around too and take some pics. All in all, the perfect day trip out of Athens! Thank you Iris (and the coach driver whose name I forgot, sorry!)

If you are REALLY in to Greek history, and understand the importance of this site, then it is definitely worth going. If however, you only have a vague interest, I'm not sure this will be interesting enough for you. The day is long (6 hours worth of driving overall), and as amazing as our tour guide was, it felt a bit rushed when we were there. We had 60 minutes for the museum, and 60 for Delphi - and it didn't feel enough. I do need to caveat this by saying that during our trip, there were strikes on the road, so we had to travel the long way - which may have eaten into our time. I had a bit of the background to everything, so I was able to connect some of the dots, but my Wife was left a bit underwhelmed by everything. We just didn't have the time for the importance of this site to land. The Arachova stop was pleasant, however we were there on a VERY busy day, so it felt overcrowded and not as enjoyable as it could have been. On a quieter day, I would guess this would be quite nice. But to give you an example of how busy this was, we had to walk 20 minutes to our coach as there was nowhere nearer for it to stop! If you have the time in your schedule, and you are interested, give this a go. If you have limited time, perhaps look elsewhere. It is a pricy excursion if you are not fully into it.

Organised, knowledgeable, safe, smooth, 10/10. Elena us guide was perfect 100/10 :) During journey we have very nice dinner in local restaurant close to Delphi. Local food :) Also we have brilliant time traveling with professional bus driver. Bus was so clean with air conditioning. We had plenty off stops for refreshments. Very well spended money, seriously recommended. My experience happened 16 Jan 2026. Time off experience 12-13 hours depends traffic.
