Pass through Independence Square, the center of Indonesia’s state government, including the Presidential Palace and the Arjuna Wijaya Statue
National Monument (MONAS)
Visit the National Monument (Monas), a 132-meter-tall landmark symbolizing Indonesia’s independence. The monument’s basement features 48 dioramas showcasing the nation’s history. Inside the Independence Room, see the Proclamation Gate, Garuda as the national emblem, and a gold-plated map of Indonesia. Please note: The National Monument is closed on Mondays.

5.00This was the most informative tour we had after a full week of tours in Indonesia. Thomas knew so much about the history and culture and was happy to share with us. He also was great at finding bathrooms that were not mere holes in a floor with no paper! Really important for foreign tourists like us. We ended the day with a stop for souvenirs at a puppet art shop. This was worth it in our opinion. Much better quality items than elsewhere (including masks and some Batik). Note that Jakarta has bumper to bumper traffic so there is no way you will get to all the sights listed so choose where you want to prioritize as the day unfolds.

4.00The tour was great, Gus was very knowledgeable and friendly, did a great job. Good selection of the city's highlights. What I didn't like was the car did not have seat belts for passengers. All cars used on tours should have seat belts.

4.00This tour gives a compact insight to the main cultural and historical aspects of Jakarta. Our Guide Gus was very informative and provided detailed explanations on the history of Indonesia. Jakarta is a city of contrast with colonial past and modern high rises beside each other. An interesting day tour.

5.00I had a fantastic experience (including road cross without traffic lights 🙈😉)on both - night tour and full day tour with Isabella and Mr Yono. Both trips were well organised, engaging. Mr Yono, thank you for safe trips!!! Isabella shared nice stories, facts that brought the history to life, making each destination memorable. I highly recommend both tours to anyone interested in learning more a out Jakarta rich past.

5.00I did the full day tour Tashia was my guide for the day. She was on time, super clean car, great English, very organised. We did several sites ( national monument, mosque, Catholic Church, old Chinatown etc, among others). extremely knowledgeable! She was very helpful on visiting spur of the moment choices ( jewellery and dried fruit tasting!) Also she has a great lunch place to go to, so don’t miss that! A great day, which was very busy but easy to do as she has it totally organised.
