  Shawn was a tremendous guide. He took us to the best places , helped us take a ton of gorgeous photos and is great company. He went the extra mile and threw in a very nice surprise at the end which I don’t want to mention here as it would be a spoiler. But I can highly recommend this tour. You won’t regret it.

  We really had a lot of luck as the weather was perfect and the views of the Fuji-san were spectacular. Shawn was very pleasant, showed us the best spots for seeing the foliage, cooked us a very tasty lunch while watching the mountain in all it’s glory and for the finale- brought us to wonderful waterfalls with yet another wonderful view of the mountain. Shawn was very fluent in English and was flexible and attentive. Highly recommend!

  Our tour guide Shawn made the whole experience a once in a lifetime treasure. The Japanese heritage was on full display the entire journey as we made our way to Mt Fuji, enjoyed an unbelievable lakeside Japanese-style BBQ lunch at the base of the mountain experiencing farmer's markets and hidden ancient waterfalls. Engaging and delightfully energetic throughout the all-day tour, Shawn navigated the winding roads to enhance the mountain views with timeless historic facts and unique local perspective.

  Shawn is such a great guide. What I found out about Shawn is that this IS his passion. He found a job that he LOVES and he wants you to have the best experience too. When somebody loves their work that much, it comes through to his guests. We were hopeful, as must people are, to view Mt Fuji. We were so lucky to have gotten a view, and also was able to see the first snowfall of the year! Shawn knows all the great spots and hidden areas. He also loves taking your photo and like I said, he picks all the great spots. You’ll always get a good photo. Don’t let the cost of the experience deter you. It is money well spent. In fact, if I could, I would book this same tour in the spring to get different photos. Shawn also provided a wonderful meal for us. It was so good and all prepared by him. If you’re reading this review, book now. You definitely will not regret it!

  As the title says - this was literally one of the best experiences of my lifetime. To set the scene, I came to the Fuji area as a solo traveler in my mid 30s and wanted to experience something different than the normal tourist things. Along with that eye am a person who wanted to see the full beauty of the area and this tour appealed to me immediately. Shawn is an incredible tour guide and very mindful. For my English-speaking reviewers here, Shawn communicates in both English and Japanese fluently to add an additional sense of comfort. For someone traveling solo (like I did on my trip), this trip gives a true sense of adventure while also feeling safe. he is also a skilled photographer so whether you are traveling by yourself or with family/friends/loved ones, understand that you can get all of your Instagram worthy photos taken by him with no worries. He took me to different places you wouldn’t even think of an even found the best ice cream I’ve had in my life. Shout out to the cow resort! 😂 and of course, the lunch that Shawn prepares for you is probably one of the most fulfilling meals you will have while in Japan. Trust me when I say will be extra and you will be mad that there is extra because it is so good! I would recommend this tour to every single person on this planet to try it out and get truly ‘off the beaten path’ in Mt. Fuji area. note that if you are staying in the Fuji area, the tour will begin around 10:30 AM but if you were staying in the Tokyo area, it will be begin at 9 AM due to transportation from the city down to Fuji so keep that in mind when planning. Also plan for weather. I was very lucky that it was a beautiful day but it was a bit hot so make sure to pack water / an empty water bottle to stay hydrated throughout. All in all - this is worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY! don’t overthink it, purchase the tour and thank me later.
