Our tour guide Flora was good and knowledgeable with good English. We set off out of Hanoi to Ninh Binh, Bai Dinh/Hoa Lu, Trang An, & Mua Cave Tour. Well we don’t know where to start. First stop was a craft place for a coffee - service fast and crafts people very clever. Second stop Mua Caves and a massive 400 steps up and a mountain (and they weren’t an easy climb let me tell you - but worth the breathless and pain - views were amazing - however then the painful climb down too!!! Third stop was Bai Dinh for the temples, lunch and a pushbike ride - found a cemetery that i wanted a picture of as they are all along the highway for each village - by chance I also found some water buffalo in the cemetery as well. Lunch was a 8 or 9 course meal with a Hanoi Beer - all were amazing. We then mounted our bikes - mine had the wobbles big time but never fell off. PThe ride was pleasant and flat and scenic - but then we had to ride through the town with cars / buses/bikes and pedestrians - challenging to say the least but we all made it back safely. Next stop was the UNESCO site - Trang An where we boarded our little boat - stunningly beautiful and peaceful and majestic - saw some very large hills, birds and ducks and koi, visited some temples, met a lovely French brother and sister. We rowed through beautiful clean clear waters through caves. We never fell out once even boarding and disembarking!!! After this very longggggg day ($90 each with food and entry fees and tour guide - bloody great deal) we stayed the journey back to Hanoi. Flora was really good and explained heaps and a very good history lesson. He was always checking we were safe and OK - thank you Flora and apologies we can’t remember the drivers name.

I joined a private tour to Ninh Binh that included Tràng An boat caves, Mua Cave viewpoint, and a countryside cycling trip, and it was an amazing experience. The day started with a beautiful rowboat trip in Tràng An, where we passed through limestone caves, peaceful rivers, and stunning karst mountains. The scenery was quiet, clean, and much less crowded than expected. We continued with a bike ride through the local villages, rice fields, and small paths. It was relaxing and a great way to see how people live in the countryside. At Mua Cave, the climb to the top was a bit tiring, but the panoramic view over Ninh Binh was absolutely worth it. Because it was a private tour, the schedule was flexible, the guide was very attentive, and we could stop for photos or rest anytime. The guide Tom spoke excellent English and explained a lot about local culture, history, and daily life. Overall, this private tour was comfortable, scenic, and very well organised. A perfect one-day escape from Hanoi — highly recommended.

Amazing experience! Trang An’s boat ride was peaceful and stunning, with beautiful caves and limestone mountains. Hang Mua was the highlight — the hike was a bit challenging but the panoramic view from the top was absolutely worth it. Cycling through Tam Coc’s countryside was relaxing and scenic, passing rice fields, rivers, and local villages. Overall, a perfect mix of nature, adventure, and culture. Highly recommended!
