A private walking tour leads you through Edinburgh where fantasy meets history.

You walk through Edinburgh where fantasy and history meet. Your guide reveals the streets that shaped the wizarding world. The tour lasts two hours and follows the path of J.K. Rowling’s imagination. At the City Chambers you see her handprints pressed into stone. You turn into Victoria Street where bright facades and curved cobbles echo Diagon Alley. You pause at The Elephant House Café, birthplace of a literary legend. The graveyard nearby whispers names that inspired Rowling’s characters. You stand before George Heriot’s School, a vision of Hogwarts in stone. The Balmoral Hotel awaits with its clock tower watching the sky. Can you picture Rowling finishing her saga in that quiet room?

This was a good tour. Our tour guide spoke rather quickly; therefore, it was difficult to understand his English at times. It lasted about 2 hours, and the tour focused on JK Rowling's creative influences surrounding the Edinburgh area as she scripted the novels.

We loved everything about it. I think watching the school children in uniform in the courtyard was my favorite since it was so similar to the movie visually with the atmosphere.

We took our five year old son on this tour. Our tour guide Harrison was both funny and informative. We loved hearing about all things Harry Potter, but also historical and anecdotal tales relating to Edinburgh, Scotland, the English language and so on.

With or without children, being a fan or not of the popular saga. We did a free tour with the Orange Enterprise. The lovely guide, Paula a 12, a love with the little ones. An hour and a half of touring, enough, it doesn't get long. She intermingles anecdotes from the film with real places in the city that inspired the writer. On the way you visit areas and places that J.K.Rowling visited while living in Edinburgh at his sister's house. Very interesting and great with children.
