This is for you who wants to maximise the chances to see the Northern Lights – and minimise the need for luck!

The main goal is simple: to see and photograph the Northern Lights with you in the picture, using our professional cameras and years of photography know-how.

We drive as far as needed, even across the border to Sweden if that’s where the lights are.

Total tour duration is between 4 to 6 hours, depending on the conditions of the night.

We’ve explored countless locations around Lapland.

Our team monitors live aurora data 24/7, satellite cloud maps, and weather models throughout the day. Once we confirm the conditions are good enough, we move. And when we move, we commit fully: we drive as far as needed - sometimes 50 km, sometimes 200+ km - to find clear skies an seeing the lights.

We operate the tour with different vehicle types based on the number of participants. (1-8 ppl: Minivan) (9-19 ppl: Minibus) (20-48 ppl: Full-size bus)

What To Expect

Rovaniemi

We continuously monitor solar wind movements to know when the Northern Lights are at their best. It is recommended to make a reservation for the first day of your arrival. If the forecast for the booked day is poor, we will move the reservation to the next day and so on. If suitable day cannot be found, the payment will be returned. We do not make a trip if the possibilities are impossible. This is how you ensure the best chance to see the Northern lights. We travel by minivans and small groups to make sure that experience is best possible. We recommend to take snack with you for the evening and warm clothes. We are focused to find Northern lights and that is why we do not focus on making campfires and grilling sausages and drinks because it is usually just impossible due to weather and driving :)

I had an unforgettable Northern Lights chase with BookLapland last night and I can’t recommend this agency enough! Everything was perfect from start to finish. The departure was right on time, the bus was very comfortable and warm, and the whole experience felt extremely well organized. A huge thank you to our two guides, Tomas and Heikki, who were incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Tomas, especially went above and beyond for us. He answered all our questions, explained how to take great photos, and even helped us capture amazing shots of the auroras. I asked him if he could make a time-lapse for us, and he happily did it! He also took several beautiful photos of us throughout the night. Tomas kept tracking the solar activity through an app and explained how it works and when we could expect the auroras to appear. Thanks to their expertise, we stopped at a first spot where we already saw the lights, and then moved to another location with a clearer sky and less light pollution. Their dedication made a huge difference, they really wanted everyone to have the best possible experience. Both guides clearly love their job and are very well trained, but I must emphasize how patient and caring Tomas was. He did everything he could to make the trip enjoyable, memorable, and successful. Truly an adorable and passionate guide! Thank you BookLapland, and especially thank you, Tomas, for an incredible night under the Northern Lights. This experience will stay with me forever!

Northern lights tour. It was super amazing and beautiful! Totally worth it ! Our tour and tour guide Leevi was super skilled and sweet and kept a great track of the northern lights, clicked beautiful photos of us and made our aurora hunting memorable. A big cheers to him & the company.

This was an amazing experience, we had to travel all the way from Finland to Sweeden just to find the perfect spot. The took all the pictures and stayed as long as we could all enjoy this liftime changing experience. We also had hot berry juice and cookies. Thanks to our guides Max, Leevi and Jake. You are awsome

Leevi, Jake and Max did a fabulous job leading the group hunt for the northern lights tonight. It was a larger group than I was expecting but it was a comfortable and warm bus. They found a spot a couple of hours out of Rovaniemi, in Sweden, and we were treated to a magical experience. Staff were friendly and enthusiastic and delivered some amazing photos to boot.

The tour took us just over the border to Sweden. We saw a fantastic aurora and the guides Leevi, Jake and Max were very friendly and informative. They took great photos of us all and provided hot blueberry juice and cookies. We saw 2 completely separate auroras. It was a truly amazing experience and ticked off my bucket list. Very worthwhile experience and highly recommend this tour.

We had a great experience at the aurora tour tonight. The team Jake, Levi and Max were amazing and ensured we got the best views. They drove us to Sweden once they saw the conditions in Finland were not ideal. We had our two daughters with us and they also enjoyed the tour. Definitely worth it if you’re in Rovaniemi!!
