  Our tour started with silence and chilled evening of Rovaniemi. But as soon as we waited for sometime, magical aurora appeared and changed this to lifetime experience.

  They said at 8pm too low energy for northern lights ...so much for the travelling large distances ...and by chance another group got picked up by another provider...I joined and yes we did see northern lights

  After visiting 32 countries with several tourist agencies, this is the WORST agency that we came across. We booked a northern lights trip through Get Your Guide. Firstly, after the booking there was zero communication from the provider till 2 hours before the scheduled time. Initially the tour guide confirmed to come at 8PM to start the tour. We were very excited for this trip. Then just 5 mins before the tour, he messaged us saying that the tour is rescheduled for the next day. Although the weather was perfectly clear, the solar activity was very high and later we got to know that the northern lights were visible that day. But then, instead of rescheduling, the agency just cancelled our trip. We sent multiple messages and even tried calling several times. But the agency completely ghosted us. It was not only rude to behave like this, they completely ruined our plans and spoiled our experience at Rovaniemi. They are a disgrace to the warm and hospitable Finnish culture. However, luckily we had a special insurance with Get Your Guide. So, we got the refund easily. But otherwise, we would have been even badly scammed. The agency should know that for some travelers, witnessing the northern lights is a life time experience. Playing with the tourists emotions and expectations is a poor deed. For all travellers, please DO NOT book this trip. Instead book with other agencies where the guide is warm, hospitable and passionate.

  The tour was cancelled because of bad sighting conditions, which is understandable and which we weren’t mad about. The thing is, we had already been waiting at the pick-up location for an hour at that point and only got to know about the cancellation because we contacted them, not because they contacted us.

  It was my first trip to Finland and my second try to see northern lights. First was with an agency from Rovaniemi - we saw only little through cloudy skies. Nikita is a really experienced nl hunter ;-) The photos he took of us are really really great, too. Clear recommendation! Best regards and ty very much Nikita!

  I have to say, Nikita is a reliable, profesional and awesome tour guide. He analyzed the weather and the solar activity, and recommended a “suitable” night for us to participate the tour. Before the tour begins, he and his wife provide the excellent and warm equipment, including the suit, boots, gloves and woolen socks. They help you a lot during you find the lights. Nikita checked the weather and tried to find a best place to see the lights. During the journey, he also explained to us some knowledge and his experience. In the third spot, we told us there may be something happen soon. And few minutes later, it came an unbelievable aurora in our eyes!! It’s insane and my mom was so happy!! They also provided the hot tea and chocolate. It’s nice. Besides, he will help you take a picture with a profesional camera. The pictures are soooo awesome. With Nikita’s profesional experience, we are so glad and lucky to see the lights. By the way, he will cancel the tour and tell you the truth if he knows the weather conditions are not good and help you reschedule the journey or 100% refund your payment, not like some normal northern lights tours. Fully recommend, just trust him! Thank you, Nikita and your wife. Our dream comes true and the experience was amazing. Take care!

  It was incredible! I was discouraged by the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights on apps, according to which the chances were 2 per cent. But our guide Nikita is a pro! I had the impression that he knew exactly where to go. We travelled for at least 2h30 to a remote spot with no light pollution and no clouds. In no time at all, the light shone for us! Thank you Nikita and the Wherever Hostel team, you're amazing!

  This was truly the most magical experience. Nikita is so honest and takes his job very seriously - he will only take people out of he knows that the conditions are good enough to see the northern lights (unlike the big tour companies, who will take you out even if they know the lights won't be visible that night). He picked me up at my hotel ,there were only 2 other guests in my group (so it felt very intimate and special), and we saw the northern lights within minutes of me getting into the car! I didn't realize that seeing the lights is not guaranteed - it depends on the weather conditions, but most importantly on your guide!! I got so lucky having Nikita as my guide. Nikita is from the same geographic region as Rovaniemi, so his insight and knowledge about the lights, and the area in general, were invaluable. I could not have asked for a better experience!!!
