  • Terrible organisation - avoid this company!

    Annabel M,

The organisation of our trip was terrible which led to unnecessary stress. Before we left we were told we could upgrade our hotel and were quoted $10USD, only to then be told this was an error and it was actually $40USD. There was no basis provided for the difference in price, and online research showed that we were be charged notably more by the operator than if we had gone to the hotel directly. We were told the incorrect time for collection and incorrect method of transport to SaPa, which meant we worried we were going to miss our bus to SaPa. When we arrived in SaPa we then had to wait nearly 2 hours before our walk began with limited information about what we would be doing, we weren’t able to check into our hotel and we were not told what would happen to our bags. Our local guide in SaPa, Mai, was excellent and we had a lovely time walking with her. The natural walk on the second day was our favourite part! Unfortunately, we once again had issues with organisation at the end of our second day walking. Our bags had not been collected from the hotel in SaPa, and I am very grateful for our guide Mai for insisting that the bus driver stopped to allow us to collect them. There was also no water provided for our 6 hour journey back to Hanoi after morning/afternoon of walking. Overall, the organisation of the trip was terrible and I would NOT recommend this company to anyone. The stress caused by the poor organisation and lack of communication was a huge issue for what could otherwise have been a lovely experience.

Overall was a good experience. The first day of the tour was very touristy. Many seemed to enjoy but not my cup of tea. I could have done without that part. The second day which was more of the trek though the rice paddies and Hmong villages was amazing. Enjoyed the beautiful landscape and long walk with the locals
