I booked this tour expecting something extraordinary, cultural, and holistic. Instead, I witnessed an unprofessional performance filled with giggling, laughing, and continuous squeaking noises that sounded like those rubber toy chickens — and this went on for nearly 45 minutes. The only redeeming part of the evening was the sunset. While some people in the audience seemed to enjoy themselves, others — including a couple in front of me with their two young daughters — appeared just as shocked as I was by how bizarre and off-putting the performance was. I’ve had far better experiences on other tours, such as temple visits and cultural excursions led by knowledgeable guides. Another issue: the advertised 4:00 PM pickup time would have made it impossible to arrive on time due to traffic from Seminyak. Thankfully, I anticipated this and left earlier, asking the driver to make an additional stop, which he kindly did. Practical advice: Avoid carrying loose items, sunglasses, or water bottles — the monkeys will grab anything they can, before and after the performance. Out of all the tours I’ve taken — horseback riding, Monkey Forest, waterfalls, temples, rice fields, swings — and from all my travels around the world, this was by far the most disappointing. I understand that cultural differences can make certain performances unique, but the laughter and lack of professionalism from the performers made it feel careless and, frankly, unpleasant.

We booked this tour and we were completely disappointed! Not by the temple but by the agency's behaviour! The tour "guide" was 45 minutes late we had to buy our tickets ourselves and while he did reaccompencate us we had to wait in line and stay alert to find him. When he finally did arrive he just gave us the ticket for the kecak and left. There was no guided tour. When I asked the agency for a partial refund they blamed it all on the traffic and refused.

This was not a skip the line tour. Our guide told us to meet at 4pm. He showed up 11/2 hours late without tickets(said he wasn’t able to get them online/ even though there were people going through the line with pre-paid tickets) so we stood in line for over an hour and missed the 6pm show. We never even met up with the guide. Do not feel this should be advertised as a skip the line tour. Get your own tickets online before.

This experience was a big disappointment. We booked online the day before. We were not advised by the Tripguru or Via - but the driver knew - that there was a festival on at the temple. As a result the roads were blocked and it took us 4 HOURS to get there. Because we arrived so late we had no time to have a tour around the grounds, have a meal, visit the temple which was out of bounds or enjoy the sunset. We were the last into the show and had to sit on the concrete next to the dancers. Tripguru gave all sorts of excuses as to why we could not get a refund, including that one of us - 2 x 74 year olds and a young male - were menstruating...... We would have been quite happy to go on an alternative trip if offered.

Being first time and with a family, was good to be picked up from Villa and dropped back again. Kadek Oka our driver/guide was friendly, answered our questions well, and gave us a great tour of the temple. Worth it the first time to make sure everyone was safe and trip was worry free.

Driver on Time. Nice. Giving good advice. I like the fact that it was only the temple visit and the show. This is what I was looking for. Thanks to Adiputra!

I booked through Agoda. In the description it said pick up at Canggu but once I booked and already paid they informed me that they wouldn’t be able to pick me up and I should meet them at the temple which was 33km away. If I knew beforehand I would’ve gone to the temple on my own and bought only a ticket to the show. They weren’t willing to compromise on pick up and I had to send emails back and forth without a resolution. I also wasn’t able to cancel my booking so I ended up losing my money. Advice it would be better to just buy a ticket to the show and get your own transportation there. This was my worst experience with a booking.

Viator needs to update the details of this excursion. The listing says it’s a five-hour trip starting at 4:00 pm, but that’s not accurate. I asked the driver about eating, and he mentioned that if we wanted food, he’d have to pick us up at 3:00 pm. So, we were picked up early and taken to a restaurant near the temple from 3:30 to 4:30—only to find out that the trip actually ends at 7:00 pm. That meant we paid for a meal we didn’t plan for, at a place we didn’t choose, at a time that didn’t make much sense. The trip itself was nice, but if you’re claustrophobic, be prepared—there were over 1,000 people packed into tight seating in 100-degree heat, which made things pretty uncomfortable. And to top it off, a monkey stole my phone. The monkeys looked hungry too :( Not exactly the evening I was hoping for, but our tour guide was very kind.

Wonderful driver Gusti. It is not really a skip the line tour. In fact there is no queue, just a lot of pushing and shoving to get in and out of the performance. It is an interesting cultural experience but would only suggest to folks who don’t have a phobia of crowds
