We are a family of 3, with a 4 year old son. We had great fun learning to make some sushi and other Japanese food. My son really enjoyed himself. Miwako the teacher is very patient with me as I have no idea how to cook at all. Miwako is very nice, friendly and courteous. The ingredients are fresh. It is a very meaningful family activity and I highly recommend this “learn to cook“ experience.

We went as a family with my 4 yr old son and a couple friend. Miwako welcomed us with such warmth and was all smiles throughout the lesson. We had so much fun and laughter. She is knowledgeable as well to share information about the products and small tips to enhance the dish. She was also super accommodating to cater the recipe to our preferences and allergies. My son had a lot of fun rolling the sushi. Her place was cozy and incredibly clean. It was Christmas Eve & it was so thoughtful of her to play some Christmas music to enhance the festive mood. It was the highlight of our trip having culture exchange, enjoying conversations over our handmade healthy sushi lunch! Definitely going back every time we drop by Tokyo. Highly Recommended for families as well. A plus point, I also love that the area around the nearest train station is a lovely street thats good for shopping, away from the usual crowd.

She is really patient and teach us step by step in making a homemade sushi set meal. We had so much fun during the process. For English speaking student , fear not as Miwa’s is fluent in English thus making the session smooth and easy. Will highly recommend friends and couples signing up for this fun filled cooking class!

This was a gift to my daughter as she loves Japanese food and cooking. Miwa instructed us with patience how to make the sushi, egg omelette & chicken nanban step by step, and with simple ingredients which you can find easily in your kitchen or from any supermarket, so that we can try to do these at home very easily. If time allows, we would definitely love to try other types of Japanese dishes. It was not simply a cooking class, but also like a home visit to a close friend where we shared happily the cooking tips and cultural differences between Japan and HK. Miwa was also so lovely that she prepared birthday gift for my daughter when we were about to leave. Thanks Miwa for giving us such a good memory!

The sushi course at Miwa was a unique experience for us. On time we were picked up by her and escorted to her apartment. A perfectly prepared table awaited us there and Miwa gave us plenty of information about the ingredients. Already the versatile cooking class started and we had a lot of fun together. Thanks to their friendly nature and personal atmosphere, this event will be remembered as one of our highlights in Tokyo. Thank you for that, Miwa!

I took part in a sushi menu lesson! I was impressed by the delicious recipes that tasted good both in appearance and taste of hospitality: colorful hand-mari sushi, maki-sushi, and main sushi, but also the nice smell that you can get into the kitchen when you take the soup stock with bonito and kelp properly, the traditional fluffy omelet baked in the home kitchen, and the colorful salad arranged with Japanese ingredients. It was a great time to talk about food and life in each country with guests from overseas who are interested in Japanese food. Most importantly, I think the cozyness of the host's hospitality is a feature of the lesson. I'd like to take part in another lesson.

We had a fantastic experience this morning with Miwa’s cooking class. She is a so friendly person and she makes you feel instantly at home. We did 5 very different dishes so easily with her advises, and it tasted so good...! Fresher than any restaurants we tried before in Tokyo. It will stay as one of our best experience in Japan

I've made a habit of taking a cooking class whenever I travel to Japan, and I've now done three. I can say that, although all three have been truly incredible, Miwako-sensei's class stands out as giving me not only a recipe, but also just a sense of how food truly brings people together. She's a professional cooking teacher in addition to the classes in her home, and so she explains things in a clear manner and tells you why you're doing it that way, which allows you to recreate it easier at home. Both my friend and I marveled at how simple the process was, and yet the meal itself was unlike anything we've ever made before. What we made was incredibly seasonal, fresh, and easy to whip up, as well as delicious, which gave me a lot of incentive to make it when I got back home. And I have! Multiple times! She's incredibly friendly and warm, which makes it even easier to follow along because you're just learning easily from a friend instead of following instructions. And her home is pretty centrally located for Tokyo — we were staying near Roppongi and it took us maybe 30 minutes on the train to get there. Pretty typical for Tokyo travel time. In short, I can't say enough good things about this class. If you're on the fence, just do it. You won't regret it.

Miwa is very attentive and fun, makes the class enjoyable and have a nice time, the fact of learning to cook typical Japanese food makes for a unique experience; but above all, sharing with Miwa that is so nice and gentle definitely makes a difference. It was a very nice experience to have finished our trip learning to cook Japanese food. 100% recommended.
