Osaka Castle
The iconic symbol of Osaka in the Kansai region of central Japan played an important role in the unification of Japan during the samurai era of the sixteenth century.
America Mura
Amerika-mura - or Amemura to the locals - is a warren of narrow streets which is at the heart of youth culture in Osaka, with dozens of shops catering to fans of urban apparel and hip-hop wear. This was a beautiful guided tour that starts at Osaka castle and takes you through the most exciting neighbourhoods of the city. Its a great mix of history and understanding the growth of the city through the years to the modern edgy city it is now. It helped to have the guide take us through the metro as it would have been too intimidating on our own. Be ready to walk a lot. I would highly recommend this tour.

Our guide Andy was very informative, funny, and knowledgeable about Osaka. We had a great history lesson and he took us to all the known and less known places in town. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this tour.

We had a 6 hour tour with Scott the first day of our trip. He showed us the basics of how to get around, discussed etiquette, and helped us feel confident to navigate the rest of our trip through Japan. He also was very knowledgeable about history and adapted his tour to make it interesting for our kids (11 and 13). We had a great experience at Osaka castle, in the fish market and shopping areas. Highly recommend!

This was a REALLY great tour that gave us all of the necessary cliffs in Osaka. My wife and I booked the private tour with Scott, and he couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Definitely ask for him. He went out of his way to make sure we did everything we wanted to, and he made sure to tailor the tour based on exactly what we wanted. He's INCREDIBLY knowledgeable about Japanese history, and even his "summaries" of certain events were more thorough than most tour guides could ever hope to know. You can tell this isn't just a professional topic for him, he actually loves what he does. The tour was really great and gave us a great overview of Osaka. This was our first day in Japan, and we were leaving for Tokyo in only two days (with one day reserved for USJ), so Scott made sure that we got a LOT out of our only free day in Osaka. We walked for 8.5 kilometers (approx. 5 miles)... and saw a LOT. On top of all of this, Scott (in his words) became our personal photographer for the day, and took some amazing shots of us. He knows some great photo spots that you couldn't find on your own, and he does his absolute best to make sure you get all the shots you want. Loved all the attention to detail, terrific knowledge, the amazing and thorough explanation of everything, and the incredibly human part of this tour. Couldn't recommend this more, and DEFINITELY ask for Scott. He made our day. Thank you so much!
