What To Expect
Osaka
Meet your tour conductor either in Shinsaibashi or Umeda DT Tower, and board our comfortable, luxurious private vehicle and travel 1 hr from Osaka to Kyoto.
Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine
Fushimi Inari Taisha, founded in the year 711 to worship the Shinto god of rice, Inari. Consistently listed as one of the most popular places in Japan. It is the most visited shrine in all of Japan. Over 2.5 million Japanese will visit the shrine during the first three days of the new year to pray for good luck, particularly in work and business. Join them and other tourists and locals climbing through the 1,000= torii gates that line the hillside and bask in over 1300 years of history.

5.00We took a fabulous full day guided tour from Osaka to Kyoto & Nara, hosted by Explorer Tours. English speaking guide was Woody, driver was Tom. 1st stop Fushimi Shrine in Kyoto where we passed through the gates & were then able to believe all our wishes would come true. 2nd stop Gion, Kyoto, for lunch, shopping & geisha girl sightings. 3rd stop, Nara, to see the Todaiji Temple, one of the largest buildings in Japan, & the Deer Park, inhabited by 1,200 wild deer. One can feed the deer cookies. The human bows, the deer bows, the human feeds the deer cookies & when the cookies are finished, the human raises his/hands & backs away. Quite a sight!

5.00This is a great tour if you are short on time and not able to spend full days exploring these areas. Our guide Jin was lovely and very knowledgeable. Communication was good, with good suggestions and insight for local food. Highly recommend if you want to hit several highlight destinations in a single day.

5.00Tour Guide Woody and driver Tom were very polite and professional. Nice overview of Kyoto and Nara. Got a little rain and the fall colors are still a couple weeks away. Would recommend to anyone want to acclimate to the area.

5.00Jin was a great guide! She communicated easily before the tour and was helpful finding ATM and stores. She was happy and full of knowledge at each stop. Her IPad had great photos and she explained history and helped us find great places for photos and food. She pre purchased tickets when needed and had crackers handy for us to feed the deer in Nara. The van was comfortable and Jin was well organized with pick up and drop off. An amazing day trip for anyone to take!
