What To Expect
Small statue paying homage to 19th-century founder of the city's original Gastown settlement.

5.00While we booked the standard tour, it ended up being a private tour (off-season)! We met Mathieu, our enthusiastic and very knowledgeable guide, and we were off on our culinary adventure. Mathieu knows food, knows wine (he's a sommelier), and he knows Vancouver! His warm and friendly personality made the tour so fun and informative. The food choices were great - LOTS of variety and generous portions! I highly recommended the Secret Food Tour, and - ask for Mathieu!

5.00The food tour was better than expected. Mathieu was very good. He was engaging and informative with an extensive culinary background. Essentially, he made the tour a very fun experience. Restaurants and food were great! Would do this again in another city. :)

2.00The tour said "Poutine".. however, there was no poutine on offer for tasting... that was a little disappointing. Our tour guide was moderately informative. We walked about some of the oldest areas of Vancouver, and ate at some pretty good places. However, this was very BAD value for money. In total we ate at 6 places, tasty stuff all, but when I did the math, this tour was wildly overpriced. If I had known where we were going to go to eat, I could have done the same with at a fraction of the cost of the tour.

4.00Booked this tour specifically after this company’s food tour in Mexico City which was amazing. This tour fell flat and was disappointing. We didn’t follow what’s advertised and left the tour feeling hungry-which for the time and money didn’t feel worth it. We split the porchetta sandwich, had a krack bar, Scottish egg, taco, two pieces of a sushi roll and a sliver of a chocolate bar. There was no poutine and no secret dish. For those that upgraded to the drink package-the bartender wasn’t even there so they just got a beer. The value just wasn’t there this city.
